Foolish People: clueless ebay record sellers

In regards to Mr. Jeffs comments, It is actually my wife who handles the on line sales on Discogs and Music stack. She is very nice to our customers and pleasant to deal with. If someone cancels an order for some reason, she replies "thank you" and moves on. She says "people have their reasons", no big deal. If, however, the customer is rude and demanding, she then blocks the customer as she doesn't need the headache and doesn't appreciate someone telling her how to run the business. This, apparently, was the case with Mr. Jeffs. She keeps great notes regarding problem customers. She's much more organized than I am, thank goodness. ..And thanks for all the the supportive comments, we really appreciate it !

I stand with Barry Wickham on this. The "$9.00 for insurance on an inexpensive record" line sound like b.s. to me anyway (unless the buyer lives in Auckland, NZ or somewhere equally remote). Wickham's insurance rates are strictly USPS and not inflated compared to most other sellers I deal with. Barry's 'better half' is also a pretty good gatekeeper, so if she flags a customer as a loser...I'd be confident that she has 'em pegged.

His less than perfect feedback rating should be enough to keep any sane & knowledgeable bidder away.

I have a Mint Minus copy of Harrison. I think I paid $75 for it.

Maybe we should commence a thread for the idiots who list forum-worthy 45s at insipid prices. such as the guy with the Cured 45, "Whole Lotta Shakin" (musically worth $50 tops) and the other pea-brain with the Sounds Of Night "Lantern Of Time" 45 (decent low key folk rock worth $100 tops). Both are examples of listing pollution; 45s that have been hogging up line space for years yet the asking price remains unchanged.

Too bad James Plummer isn't active. He might go for it, and maybe even pay for it.
Then it will be in the next set of Garage Greats.

I have two copies of the Harrison.
I've been trying to sell for under $50 for years with no success. That includes an eBay listing about 5 years ago. Maybe he wasn't around for that.

Seller has 100% feedback - so, grading may be accurate and up to strict collector standards, or the buyers are going deaf / have hearing problems.

Looks like one of those "never been played" EBay items (translation: Despite the obvious condition of the media,
the seller has never actually 'played' the record himself, so he is technically being "truthful"). An "unplayed" copy!

Italiano Caveman contacted me not long ago, demanding in his own imitable manner, that I sell him a 45 he wanted. Can't recall the specific 45.
I got contacted by the caveman on 45cat recently about the Cellar Dwellers on Century saying ''please, can you sell me this 45?". There is a copy on ebay now calling it 'garage psych', but it does not sound like that to me. Am i wrong? I mentioned the copy on ebay, but did not want to go through ebay because of taxes and fees. He did not make any offers.

If you enjoy drama, stress AND getting ripped off, then dealing with the Caveman is your dream come true.
If he lives in Italy, he would have to mail me cash or pay via Western Union since I do not have paypal. I really don't like sending packages overseas. I'm also watching the one on ebay to see final bid. Why are they calling this garage? Sounds like folk to me.

BTW, What is the status of the online TBM database?

I never had a problem with Caveman, he is a little pushy but in a humourous way. I liked him better than some I have dealt with. He had me send to an USA friends address, which saved pissing around with custom forms and such.
If he has someone in the lower 48 willing to send me a check, money order i'm willing to sell it to him if a price can be worked out.

It’s not even listed in the online TBM so I suspect you’re right and it’s not garage sounding. I haven’t heard it myself.
