Foolish People: clueless ebay record sellers

just got an email from ebay about how i was abusing mono man with my language. at least i did'nt write his girlfriend rambling on about how he hated some band who used his nickname etc etc

A few years ago I was selling some LP (Can't remember the artist) and I had in my description that is was the rarer superior MONO version. And he contacted me and blasted me up and down how the STEREO version was superior and the only way to listen to the album. But he was super weird and mean in the way that he did it. Very strange. Too bad...'cause I love DMZ & The Lyres. I guess he should change his name to STEREOMAN. HA!

i just enjoy music and vinyl.

threads like this sure make me appreciate the regular customers who walk through the door of our store and support a local mom and pop business. they aren't pretentious. they aren't judgemental. they're mostly young people with a passion in their eye because vinyl is new to them. it is quite fun teaching them about things they've never heard of.

i just enjoy the music, and the vinyl. all this other stuff you folks are discussing isn't really in my day to day circle. ever.

i feel like i have it made, frankly. i have no customers to bitch about, the way you folks are carrying on about an "online entity".

my regular customers are awesome people. i'm sorry to hear you folks have to deal with the opposite. that seems foreign to me. all the vinyl folks i know rock. pun intended.

well, some of the collectors i know are elitist, pretentious assholes, but i've told them that to their face when they've acted like a spoiled brat in front of me, so they don't really bother me too much. highly recommended.
 
If you only sell in person (like a brick and mortar store), you do not have to say what you think the grade is. Just price it and see if it moves. People can look at the condition and the price and decide to buy or walk. No infuriating Les Harris moments of misrepresentation and butthurtedness over having to re-package and mail something back on your own dime to get a refund for something that was never MINT (like the auction stated) to begin with.
 
Here's an obnoxious scammer who is listing high-end (obviously counterfeit) Beatles and Elvis items, all at ridiculous MB/BIN prices. Somebody seemingly bit on one, bidding $4K for a Beatles alternate 'trunk cover' of Yesterday and Today (only 4 real ones known to exist, trunk picture without background airbrushed out). I expect it was actually the seller shilling, as the winner had 7 feedbacks.

love the ginseng root man. Maybe no one complains to ebay about him? I bet if enough people did he'd get pulled. 2 of his 53 seller feedback are negatives, but because of ebay's stupid 'in the last 12 months' tabulation he's got a 100% positive rating. Ridiculous.
