G45 Ebay Watch

In an attempt to end (or at least refocus) the bickering in the Country Club ;), and with apologies to Shakesomeaction, I'm gonna list some eBay sales of which I am aware from the last two months:

1. A BOOTLEG copy of The Alarm Clocks sold as a Buy It Now for $199.99.
2. A VG- copy of The Alarm Clocks - No Reason To Complain/Yeah on Awake sold for $1285.66.
3. A EX copy of The Thirteenth Floor Elevators - You're Gonna Miss Me on Contact sold for $159.26.
4. A MINT (w/dishwarp nap) copy of The Malibu's - Cry/Leave Me Alone on Planet sold for $217.50.
5. A VG copy of The Syndicate - My Baby's Barefoot/Love Will Take Away on Dore sold for $242.50.
6. A VG copy of The Squires - Going All The Way/Go Ahead on Atco sold for $126.50.
7. An EX copy of The Elite - My Confusion/I'll Come To You on Charay sold for $288.00.
8. A M- copy of The Bel-Aires - Ya Ha Be Be/If You Love Me on Discotheque sold for $209.17.
9. A VG+ copy of The Continentals - I'm Gone/Blue Moments on Gaylo sold for $340.00.
10. A VG to VG+ copy of The Centrees - Why/She's Good for Me on Wildwood sold for $216.50.
11. A M- copy of Apollo's Apaches on Anybody's Records sold for $349.55.
12. A VG++ copy of Keith Kessler - Don't Crowd Me/Sunshine Morning on MTW (without P/S) sold for $241.50.

Has anyone had the nerve/time to document non-ebay sales. It would of course have to be on the honor system and some guys won't want to get involved because they are secretive, but it may have a bearing on how many we know are out there. I can start things off by saying I sold a VG++ copy of MYSTIC (Frantic) for $1800.00. And maybe it would take 2 G45 members, 1 seller / 1 buyer to confirm the sale.

2. A VG++? copy of The Painted Ship - And She Said Yes/Audience Reflections on London sold for $547.00.
3. A VG copy of The Interns - I've Got Something To Say/The Trip on Eastwood sold for $250.00.
4. A M- copy of The Warlocks - I Love You on Big Rock sold for $389.45.
5. An EX+ copy of The Hangmen - What A Girl Can't Do/The Girl Who Faded Away on Monument sold for $182.50.
6. An EX- copy of The Tropics - As Time's Gone/Time on Columbia sold for $203.50, with a VG++ to EX copy selling shortly thereafter for a Best Offer of $250.00.
7. A VG++ copy of Paul Bearer & the Hearsemen - I've Been Thinking/Route 66 on Riverton sold for $582.50.
8. A M- copy of The Levis - Hear What I Say/That's Not The Way on Fleetwood sold for $449.99.
9. A NM copy of The Magic Plants - I'm A Nothing/I Know She's Waiting There on Verve sold for $187.50.
10. A VG++ copy of The Trashmen - Ubangi Stomp/Bird 65 on Argo sold for $156.60.
11. A VG (w/label damage) copy of The Bad Roads - Blue Girl/Too Bad on Jin sold for $336.34.

I'm sure I missed ALOT, as I am unfamiliar with so many of the records discussed here, so please add your own. Also, in the event any of these are on the G200 list, I have NOT made any updates to that list.

Jim has probably got some other important things to do. That's also my excuse for staying off the forum lately. The trouble with posting here can be, one thing leads to another... and another...and another...which is great until you suddenly find yourself looking after 2 sick people and a business.

In the meantime, thanks to down-n-out and reyes for keeping the G45 research flag flying!

Good idea in theory Joey. I think the secrecy element will get in the way a lot of the time.
An obvious recent sale to be noted: 4 m- copies of The Thunderbirds "Hey Little Girl" sold recently for $750 each,

This seller living eye always puts out really great records... I've gotten a few not that top shelf though, gonna start savin' for the next one haha..

I won the Chob 45 for a mere $1905. That is, of course, too much, but it has been my #1 want for several years now. I've been unable to find this 45 at any price. So, I put in a stupid amount & I won!

Feel free to tell your story of how you got a copy for $200 or if you're George, $10.

I would have bid 2K + if I had the $$$. My top want for legendary garage 45s as well. Better than the Keggs, for my money. Congrats, Rich!
The only time I had a chance to get the 45 was via Michael Thompson, back around 1985/6. I had already traded a rare garage 45 to Bill N in exchange for a Golden Catalinas "Varsity Club Song" maybe 20 minutes earlier. I forget what 45 I had a spare of, but when I ran into Michael he said, that he needed a copy of the record, and he would've traded his extra "We're Pretty Quick" that he had gotten from one of the bandmembers. My worst blown trade ever, hands down.
