G45 Ebay Watch

VG-VG+ copy of Murphy and the Mob "Born Loser" on Talisman went for $1636.00 yesterday.

I got a copy in really great condition earlier this year. Even more delighted with it after seeing the price above, even if it was comfortably my biggest spend of the year.

This is not a garage record, but i think this is really crazy even for a 7000 dollar record!!!! How much will the northern soul collectors end up paying for a bite-size chipped record. To me it would drive me nuts not be able to hear a record from the beginning.
What you think?

It's a clever ruse..After he's sold the record, he'll put the missing piece up for auction.

Man, I really wanted this one, but I think the former host of this thread won it. Unfortunately, I am looking to buy a new car, and couldn't justify the purchase right now. However, if this is truly the 5th known copy, and it is a legit VG+, the price doesn't seem too unreasonable.

another intersting case here.

I was talking about this with a friend the other day. We were both wondering if this price was because it's now a turntable hit on the disco scene. Is that the case?
If so, is there somewhere I can find a Billboard-style Top 200 list for the disco scene so I can adjust my prices accordingly?
