G45 Ebay Watch

I just think the kid listing the lots on ebay has no idea what he is doing. Obviously, his deceased dad just accumulated / collected as a cheapie / junker, based on the condition of nearly every 45 in the lots. Probably spent no more than $5 per 45.
Quite certain you won't find or come across anything rare in collection, namely for the reason I pointed out.

Well, that could be. But I'm afraid I'm far more suspicious of the underlying motive and method. My bet is there will be one repro included with every auction this guy puts up, to tempt and confuse the unwary.

This description is from one of his other auctions. It sounds to me like he has a fair idea what he's doing

The Young Monkey Men on P&M 3648. "I Love You"
and "I"m Waiting For The Letter" Record is in VG++
condition. Very rare garage / psych record released in 1967.
The band was from Trenton, New Jersey. Both sides are
excellent garage / psych songs with snotty vocals and some
great lead guitar and were featured on the compilation LP
"Attack Of The Jersey Teens."

I don't suspect that to be the case, he's probably adding 45s based on condition, tossing in some higher grade 45s with the beaters.

If he is trying to be deceitful, the buyer is ultimately the responsible party for knowing the difference between a bootleg and an authentic pressing of any record, and thereby bidding accordingly.

Very well, I'll reluctantly grant a stay of execution on the basis of the testimony of the learned Professor Moptopmike. Hopefully we'll not see this orgone-accumulator fellow before this bench for a third time.
Bring in the next prisoner!

Bosshoss, The Hanging Judge.

I wondered why there was an obvious boot in with the rest of the stuff. Not going to give the guy too much shit, though, because he has had some decent lots of records going for fair prices.

Well, he had that Lords of London 45 on Shot in that one batch, and one of the latest lots had Randy Fuller's Mustang single (though he put up a scan of "It's Love Come What May" instead of "Wolfman", whoops). What was cheapo junk in the 1970s and '80s can include many very expensive items by today's standards.

You have the first, rare release; Mustang #3003. The other release of Wolfman came out with a higher number. My copy of Wolfman has "Mad Mike" written on the label several times. Guess it was a "miker"

Is the stock Wolfman - Thunder Reef pressing noisy? I have one and it seems that has some underlying noise. have not heard the promo copies....

The copies I've seen are all styrene. The music has a lot of high end, as most great surf instros do, Therefore, if the records were played on an old player with a heavy tonearm, and/or with a damaged stylus, the record will have distortion. I had to upgrade several time to find a mint playing copy. Good luck !

Still in mid-November:

It seems every time I look eBay these days, it's dominated by the three most annoying sellers. I keep seeing the same overpriced records everyday. I mean, wtf :wtf:
