G45 Ebay Watch

I hate that!!!!..... recently I have taken to taking a risk on something I have zero idea about.... 45s with no music you can hear or no description.... I have to say, this month alone I have had two pretty cool folk-rock 45s from doing this sorta risk take buying.

As Del Boy used to say, "He Who Dares to buy the 45, Wins"

A few that haven't been mentioned:

1. Silked Wing Alliance - Flashback on Accent. A VG+ copy sold for $526.00

2. The Nomads - Be Nice w/PS on Spotlight sold for $1234.00. Another one from the same source. Guess it pays off to dribble them out a few a year!

2. The Moxies - Get a move on Monza. G+ sold for $209.28

Unfamiliar with that episode of 'Only Fools and Horses'... was that the episode when Dell's son Damien destroyed a collection of rare UK freakbeat 45s that were boxed in the 3-wheeler?

Note to our American friends, the above never happened, said conversation is a slice of fictional banter between myself and Phil.

I just did a similar buy... The Fabulous Four - Happy (Brass) for $10 - unplayed copy. Good song 'n' good sound but slightly lame lyrics IMO. Rare?

That's the vibe I had from it yeah. $20 - $30 disc... pretty good but dind't blow me away.
I got Alva Starr - Clock on the Wall (Golden) for $2.99 recently aswell, which is definitely a better score ;)

I've junked that Alva Starr 45 a couple times. For a 'local' label, both of the AS records got around!

Don't forget Junior McCants on King - 15 grand for the only known copy, paid by an American soul collector...which is really a bargain for its rarity, as you place records up against other collectibles. Objects as arcane to you such as duck hunting decoys, or wooden fishing lures can sell for large sums beyond 100K.

I had that Junior McCants 45 in my hand (long after it was acquired by the collector). There's another copy in a collection, assuming the label scan I saw prior to this was not a mock up.

A few more. Not much g45 action but...

1. The Spades - I'm alright (Ace) in VG++ condition sold for $444.17

2. Savoys - Work it (Orlyn) another in M- condition sold for $499.99. Guess we'll be seing it as a Garage Greats boot soon...
