G45 Ebay Watch

The Vikings went cheap, even for the condition. It sounds distorted due to the recording and mastering. If I had the $$$ I would've put in a serious bid and it would have gone higher

Im not too blown away by The Vikings.... however The Vandals on 'D' records which is currently on Ebay, is a work of genius, I am sure it's gonna go for big bucks.

I am sure one of you guys will claim the Vandals 45 won't you?

Mike, You stated you sell records on Facebook... I only have a band Facebook page and thus, don't feel I am able to view your Facebook page... do you do lists of spare 45s? I do spend the money, so if there was anything on the list that you may have that I wanted I'd likely buy it.

Paul

Afraid not Phil, I do spin killers and some more obscure garage cuts... But I'm not Djing on Sunday as The Higher State are playing on Saturday

I told Jess I'd llikely do the June date

Yes. There is NO difference.

The version heard on Pebbles Vol 1 is the LP version, a re-recording.

I sold my styrene Amy label US pressing many years ago because I don't need a duplicate copy of a song I have on the Canadian Quality label, which sounds better and is a vinyl pressing.

This is not true. I have two copies on Quality, one as the Haunted and one as the Hunted (a misprint, of course) and they both have a different third verse than my Amy 45. The Quality issue seems to have the same words as the LP rerecording, but the Amy one ends with the line (as said by the would be prostitute/cheap date) "Come on in and I'll show you a thrill". I posted about this on a couple other forums (the old Garagepunk and somewhere else) but was never given a definitive answer if there are copies on either label that have lyrics different from the copies I have. The easy assumption is that the lyrics as heard on my Amy copy were 'tamed' to the 'line of executives..." verse, does anyone know for sure in the checkered history of the band?

Interesting - I never noticed the difference in the lyric line.
I was referencing the oft noted assumption - that the Amy label 45 is the version that appears on Pebbles Vol 1.
An incorrect assumption.
Then, there is no difference between the Quality version and the Amy version except for the lyric change. The instrumental backing track is exact. The Amy label US version didn't come out at the same time as the Quality label 45, it was at least a month and a half afterward.

Great buy for the winner. I hope BigJim enjoyed his US only clause. Certainly lost him $xxx. Probably more non-US bidders like me that would have topped that price easily. Oh well...

Certainly is a tough one to get...it took me a long time to reel it in. Still looking for the Shadows Four and Bonnevilles on Fleetwood. As far as the label is concerned for completists, The Gables LP is one of the scarcest on Fleetwood!

Well, somehow another month passed since my last update. Here is a roundup from the last month. Similar to my last updates, this is not necessarily the most expensive, and certainly not very comprehensive. Just a list of items that caught my eye, and are still in my watched item list.

Time to feed the dogs. I'll be back with more in the next 24 hours.

It never ceases to amaze me how that Kessler 45 keeps turning up, and simultaneously holds its value (for the most part). Did someone find a stash of them somewhere?

It's never been rare. I used to find them occasionally for $25 or less. It's a DJ spin now.

A copy of the Electric Prunes "Shadows" sold as BIN for $7500 - assuming that was the price and it was not negotiated lower.
