G45Central Mark II officially open

Welcome to the new G45Central board.

The old board is now locked for posts but is still able to be viewed and searched. I wanted to import the posts here from the beginning, but I have come to the conclusion that the technical difficulties are too great right now. So I've temporarily added the old forum as a link in G45 Unlimited.

At some stage, I will integrate the old forum in a more satisfactory way. I have the data converted into the new forum format, but importing it would require going completely back to scratch and re-installing the new forum. It took me over a week to set up, so that's just out of the question for now.

It's not ideal, but I hope it works ok for everyone in the meantime.

To kick things off, I'd like to thank everyone who helped get things looking good here, during the test phase. Lots of great suggestions from Moptopmike, naturally. And the logo slogan "zoomin..." was Frantic's brainwave which I really like. MTWallet showed us how to get video clips embedded right into the middle of a post like this

And thanks to EXPO67, Shakesomeaction, legbarecords, Stampy, Wextex, pfft, Mr Segment, Michael W., Eggman, Axel, Laurent Bigot and The Plague for chiming in with some helpful comments.

Well I cut and pasted the G45 Vs EBAY top 200 in the Ebay watch thread.
It would not let me use more then 500 characters per post so I had to divide them in 4 posts (50 per post). I hope that is o.k. with people, but it was the only way to transfer the data from the old forum for now.

All the secret back doors and points remind me of a computer game Mark. Tomb Raider, or should that be Bunker Raider.....with Mark "Bosshoss" as Lara Croft.....I can see the kids buying into this.
Is there any way we can come up with an Iphone apps. then I can post on the go......

It's way cool. Way Way Kool...

There's 2 ways to comment on embedded Media clips.
First, you can just add your comment right under the Media clip play window, either from the Home Page media section, or from the Media Page (4th tab along from the top of this page).
The second way is to click on the YouTube link which appears when you hover over the top left section of the play window (says "The Paragons - Abba" plus a username). That link will take you straight to the clip on YouTube, and you can copy the URL of the clip there. Then you can embed the clip directly into your post on G45Central using the Media button in your post editing window (piece of film icon near smileys). Enter the URL and the clip will magically appear in your post and you can add comments under the embedded clip.

The advantage in using the Media page for posting clips, is that they are added into a permanent database which is searchable via keywords. That's a lot better than scrolling through posts looking for a clip.
