Sorry to have to intrude on our usual discussions with a mundane question. I've noticed some technical problems with the forum lately, and I'm trying to track down the source of the problem. Could everyone please help by answering the following poll about browsing and posting here at G45Central?
I may have to update the forum software if enough people are having problems. I'm not keen to do it, because it may disrupt the scrolling labels at the top of the page, which took some time to perfect.

Not sure why but I can't post a reply in the same way that I used to.

I can't reply to a post and add text at the same time. I get around it by replying to someones post without comments then use the 'edit' fascility and save changes.

Yes Mark, I too am a victim of this issue. I basically have to quote someone's comment in order to reply. If I want to post a NEW topic/thread, well, that's impossible all together.

My solution:
I downloaded Google CHROME

I only have this problem if I'm using Mozilla Firefox.

Posting seems to be alright for me. The site loads about the same speed as all the other Internet pages I use. This is Firefox 3.6 on a G4 Mac, i.e. ancient.

Laptop using IE: No problems

iPhone using Safari: No problems

Nokia E75 using IE: Able to only post blank posts, not possible to write anything. Just a black space below the last post and the two Post Reply and More Options buttons.

The forum works good on Firefox 9.

EDIT: I shouldn't have said that because I got trouble when I was editing the post.
It got posted blank.

You've just solved the case I think. Two days ago I had to update Mozilla Firefox and I'm almost certain that has resulted in my posting problem. Everything was OK before that point in time!

I've also installed Google Chrome and since then it's a smooth ride. I only have problems posting pictures but I think that may have something to do with my own disability with digital medias ;)

Yep, SAME HERE!

I had a feeling it was that update that screwed up my G45 playtime  Google chrome seems to work pretty good. It's definitely (a) solution to anyone having this issue.

The system has always woked OK for me. Is that because I use Explorer?

Yep... this is a problem with the latest Mozilla update. I started a thread a few weeks back... I'm not downloading any more browsers on this dinosaur of a machine (already IE, Safari, and Firefox) so I'll just deal with the Reply-Reply-Edit workaround. It's a pain, but like being born extremely good looking it's something you just have to learn to live with.

I'm having the same problems. I have to respond to a post and then edit to make my comments.

I have firefox too, so that might be the problem with mine.
