hey there. Probably a very novice question for some of you, but hey, I'm learning everyday... I heard about Gail Anderson thru another very early garage collector, telling me he'd been in touch with him as soon as the early 70s. I couldn't find any infos regarding this guy while googling, still I'm pretty sure I've heard / read this name quite a few times already there or on the old forum, but just can't retrieve anything. Is he still alive (I say "he" but isn't "Gail" a female first name ? gee I just dont know actually)? Is he still around ? if so, would anybody here be kind enough to give me his email address ? There's quite a few questions I'd like to ask him. Thanks.

Gail is indeed his name. He is still around; last time I saw him was in the spring of 2012 at the Allentown 45rpm Record Show. He was selling 45s from his collection.
He is a longtime collector and fan from the pre-Pebbles era, and issued the Surfin' Thru / In the Midwest and the Midwest vs. Canada comps in the mid 1980s.
Unfortunately, I do not have a contact for him.

Hi Sylvain, if you are still interested in my "A Journey to Tyme" comps and my appearance on the same stage as Jimi Hendrix at the "Love & Peace Festival 1970" here in Northern Germany AND if you can get our TV-Station N3 anywhere near the place you live, the interview with me is airing coming Wednesday, May 27 at 21.00 hours. It's about 45 minutes long and features portions Jimi's last ever appearance on stage. Best regards from "The Phantom" Hollie.

*Damn, Midwest vs. Canada, of course ! thanks Mike, this escaped me.... I KNEW I knew this name. Now, I NEED to get in touch with him and collect his recollections. Yes, I sometimes feel like the Harry Smith of the garage collecting scene, trying got convince collectors to tell me their stories, gathering facts, in the hope and in the aim to put that all into perspective and picture a synthetic view of what's been happening. I've contacted some of you here already fo that purpose, essentially the pre-82 collectors. Few of the "second wave" were hassled so far, as I'm focusing on the first wave currently, but you guys are the next in line. I'm in touch with a lot of the early collectors, some are 300% up to help, some others aren't interested, or used to but seems to have lost interest in the meantime. Among them, some major figures of the scene, which is a pity, as their stories will one day be lost forever. That's too bad but there's not much I can do there, apart being patient in the hope they change their mind. I've been gathering some great things so far, which just convince each new day that this work needs to be done.

*Hollie. Great to hear from you again. Sure I'm still interested by your stories. We've started an interview end of last year as you may remember, but this still remains to be completed. I'm also currently investigating the german collector scene from the 80s, the mysterious "Ringtausch", which looks like an amazing thing, and about which you may know quite a bit. Let's talk further of that all thru email.
