Hi- I'm new here- I found this site by googling the lyrics to this song- I recently heard it and am desperately trying to find out who it's by! The post author says it's by Smiles? Can you give me any more information- is/was that the full band name? Was this ever released on an album? Any information would be much appreciated!

I got that information from a YouTube video. The actual title isn't known.

Most people have heard it by means of a compilation put together by a guy called DJ Shadow, and he said that the band's name was "Smiles". No further information about the record has been found about the record...even after I posted a thread about it on here. It's a great tune.

Nuts! That's exactly how I heard of it - I re-listened to the compilation over the weekend and was struck by the record, googled to find what it was but no-one seems to know- your post was the only one I'd seen that listed a band name so I hoped the mystery might finally have been solved, but apparently not! I listened to Ognir and the Night People's "I Found A New Love" with my mom today.

Although the chorus is "I found a new love that's gonna stay," she could have sworn it was "I found a doodlebug in Tennessee". Not sure what she was hearing...
