i kinda always felt sorry for jeff to have the garage punk website on his chest. as mtm indicated, the old forums were great. back then, i was mostly checking the "modern garage" forum and only now& then checking the 60s board, but i remember it as a very vital place. after the big split, things were never the same.

I don't really understand why it's a problem to keep it going. Forums such as these are very little bother or expense to maintain. They run by themselves.
If I get too busy, or too burned out to contribute to this forum, I simply take a break. It's usually still here when I come back to it.

It was mainly interesting because of the conflict aspect. The modern garage forum full of garage/grunge/psychobilly/hardcore guys with a minimal appreciation of 60s garage except for BFTG, vs. purists in the 60s forum. And the fact that it was heavily moderated and censored encouraged rebellion.
