Happy Snaps

8 of them are the Cindermen which initially failed to upload, but have now been added. 2 others were the Newberry 4 which should never have been in the C folder. That brings the discrepancy down to 4 photos. Unless they are visible as "Failed Transfers" in the FileZilla window, or unless Mr. Splendid can remember 4 accidental duplicates, I suggest ignoring the discrepancy, as cross-checking 952 files visually is a job I wouldn't wish on anyone.

For anyone helping with the re-naming, please be sure to check the "Failed Transfers" before closing the FileZilla window. And just to be sure, please make a note of the number of photos in the original folder, and the number in the re-named folder to make sure it's the same. Let me know any problems and I'll be able to fix them.

Re-naming the photos is a lot more time consuming than you would imagine, and I'm very grateful to everyone who has helped. The European contingent has been especially generous, and accurate as well. Thanks to all!

But it's also a nice way to re-visit all those nice soundfiles I've collected over the years (thanks to Mark) - and a way to look for files that I'm still missing.

Yes there were a few , it might have been four , duplicates there I couldn't see any difference ( promo/stock or catalogue number ) so I left them out . I did a side-by-side check between my folder and the uploaded folder and apart from the Cindermen nothing was missing .

What do we do with "Thee In-Set - They Say"? Leave "Thee" out?
What do we do with "Thee In-Set - They Say"? Leave "Thee" out?

Best leave "Thee" In. So the filename would be "TheeInSet-TheySay.jpg".
I have my "Thee" records filed in various places, not all under "Thee". Mainly because I can't always remember if the records should be "The" or "Thee", and then I can't find the record until I remember it's one of those "Thees". So I gave up storing them all under "Thee". But most people including TBM, file them all under "Thee".

There is the Thee Counts on Highland in the C folder , I handled it like a "the" so you might want to move it .

That's precisely what I did with Thee Kavaliers, and what I've always done in my discographies - seems logical to me, although I admit I have the same problem as Mark: I can't find a record unless I recall it's preceded by a Thee.* Likewise for bands that use a foreign language definite article. A side note about Thee Kavaliers: I named all bands as per label; therefore The Cavaliers will be separated from Thee Kavaliers, even though they are the same band. Feel free to rename them for your own use.

* Well merited punishment for having a fallible memory.

Another question: what to do with scans from same songs on different labels? Put the label in? Like BeatlesHelpParlophone?

Yes, but I would probably put a dash before the label, to distinguish it from the title

Beatles-Help-Parlophone. You could shorten any long label names, eg InternationalArtists could be IA.

QUESTIONS
Is the Scotty McKay’s Bolero Band the fipside of the Scotty McKay Quintet?

ALERTS
* I misnamed the Citations - “Just for you” for the sake of keeping the two sides of the 45 together.
* I didn’t know the Midnight Chimes songs; therefore, I couldn’t assign titles
* I assumed the blank flip of Mind’s Eye was “Still in love with you baby”
* If you were wondering what happened to the Mogen David 45, it’s here.
* Gee Gee 45-101 (The Interois) has been assigned to the letter “I”, because I thought it best to treat it the same way that Mark treated the other
two 45s of identical format in the M-folder. My decision was intended to satisfy the demands of logic, consistency, and user-friendliness.
* Be aware that the Monterays is the flip of the Madisons
* Be aware Donne & the Mustard Men is the flip of The Mustard Men
* The Bonniwell Music Machine has been named as such
* Be aware that The Trend Men with James Halford is the flipside of Ronald Myers with the Trend Men.

Thank you Daniel. The letters B,C, M and S are the biggest ones by far. S is easily the biggest of all. The other 3 are about equal.

The Trend Men "Jing-A-Ling" is truly a godawful track! At first I thought you had refused to include it on principle.

Fantastic, Ad. Thank you.
The only letters unclaimed now are :

O/Q and R

O and Q go together, because they are both very small (1.5 boxes of 45s for both letters combined). For comparison, M, B and C were 3.5 boxes each....T is 3 boxes....S is almost 7 boxes!
