I've never been a big fan of listing the records I find every year but I bought around 800 lps on January 1st and a Near Mint copy of one of the most sought after Beatles LPs was in the batch. It's a 1st version Ad Back Stereo copy, which is the one you want. I bought the collection sight unseen for $460. When I got home and went through the records I discovered this monster. It still had it's original Sears baggy (which protected it) on it. And here I had a feeling that this year was gonna suck.

Today I bought a collection of over 400 jazz lps in very minty condition, runs of Pacific Jazz, Contemporary, World Pacific, a dozen orig. Blue Notes, etc. Spent about the same as you Joey. Not sure if there's anything as valuable as the 'Ad Back' Vee Jay you have, but it made my day.

Mint Mobley should bring about $2000
Mint Dorham around $1200
Mint Griffin $1500-$2000
Mint Burrell $1500-$2000
Mint Messengers $400

I'l trade my batch for your batch.;)

alot of so-so stuff. a couple of early sealed Flamin Groovies lps. Some Mfsl's, Some mint 60S Stones LPS all in shrink. Mothers Of Invention stuff, a couple sealed Capt. Beefhearts. Arthur Lee Vindicator etc. Every Townes Van Zant lp, Gram Parson lps. Lots of promos and half in shrink. Some nice punk lps, Youth Brigade (1st press) Germs. Etc. A stack of sealed quad records and a bunch of oddball stuff. All pretty much unplayed. Nice but other than the BEATLES LP nothing Earth shaking.

As far as listening goes, I'm as excited about that the collection included two Hoyt Axton LPs on Horizon as any of the jazz.
That's funny I got a few of those too. Plus a lot of weird singer songwriter stuff.

Had a nice day yesterday. Located a Near mint AZITIS LP, A 1st press autographed THELONIOUS MONK Himself lp on Riverside. Also bought around 80 mint Challenge label 45s mostly promos. WE THE PEOPLE, KIP TYLER, KIM COBURN, GENE VINCENT etc. And last but not least, the 2nd known copy of the FATIGUES LP on Stanco. This LP was only a rumor for years until Mark Crocker turned up with one. He recorded the best tracks off it for me around 10 years ago. One band member said 20 were pressed another said 25, strictly to give to Record companies to get them signed. They did not come with covers. The song ROOFTOPS is insanely cool. ;) Other than that it's been a slow month.
