MISSING LINK : CRYSTAL BALL / TWO TIME TEASE ( MYSTIC 2473 )

seller claimed it to be from MA, 1966, is this correct?

thanks,

I have this 45.
The only word I can find to describe it is DIRE.
You'll find it listed as one of the 400+ rejected 45s in Beyond TeenBeat Mayhem.

The record was released in 1970, not 1966.
The group was from western Massachusetts.

thanks mike for that quick response.

"dire" could still be interesting to me, but "1970" killed that off:nope:

I'm spinning it right now.

These clowns are trying to do a "abbey road" era Lennon & McCartney style low key harmony ballad (piano, low strummed electric guitar) replete with "da da da" thrown in. In retrospect, it isn't that bad but I doubt it would score higher than a 2 in TBM / BTBM. however there is always some wing-nut who might beg to differ.
The da da da's in place of some lyrics grate on my open-mindedness - a bit too cloying.

The flipside "Two Time Tease" is a backward recording of a different song. Have not bothered to record it and convert to forward play.

It was pressed by Precision Record Press, the master number PRP 19681 / 19682 places it in the 1970 year of release. Have not seen the on-line selling propaganda.

I bought it on FeeBay and instantly returned it for a full refund. Dealer was very reasonable (said it was
erroneously "garage" in the ad and knew one of the members of the group) but the record was schlocky lounge rock. The B-side was amusing since it was a backwards version of a song ... but I suspect equally as dire if you play it forwards. Knock that one off your want list quickly!
