Who got the Little Phil "sixty Second Swinger" 45 for a burn-a-hole-in-your-wallet price of $30?
$30 is what I paid for my copy of the Barking Spyders; Times square Records in NYC had it on their mail order sales list. The only reason I got it was that I did not go to work the day the list arrived - I was out sick, and decided to go get the mail as soon as it arrived. Lo and behold the Barking Spyders, M- $30! I immediately called Louie to reserve it. While I was waiting for him to answer, I had been looking at the other sections of the list, and somehow spotted Adrian Lloyd in the "General Rock And Roll" section, VG+ $4!
Best score ever on any list for me!
Turns out Louie had three or four copies of the Barking Spyders, all were unplayed. He told me I got the last copy. "Who got the others?" I asked. Louie laughed and told me - "Tim Warren"
I think my copy of the Barking Spyders came from that stack, I believe I paid $50, or $40, so someone got a little profit. It was a Waterbury record show hallway deal before Grumpy Grampa kicked us out....
Ha, yeah, we were the "Rogues" of the Waterbury, Connecticut record show, always getting harassed, followed, & threatened by the hired football frat-meatheads for "taking away profits from other dealers who paid to set up at the show", according to human fossil show promoters Leonard and Mary (I swear they looked old enough to have witnessed The Mayflower arriving at Plymouth Rock).
