John Belushi - The Ravens - 45 Reissue

Just received a press release from Alona's Dream Records and thought this would interest many of you. The Ravens 45, pressed in a quantity of around 40 in 1965, is being reissued. The interest factor here is that John Belushi was the drummer for the group.

Maybe they "sold" 40 copies, but there were more pressed, regardless of what the members or the reissue folks claim.

I first heard this on a Mop Top Spins set back in 2004. It's a pretty cool song.

John Belushi was a pretty fair drummer. I saw him handle the kit very well joining the Dead Boys for "Sonic Reducer" @ CBGBs many, many years ago. Was 1977 really 34 years ago - where oh where does the time go?

I have this record. It's pretty good, they sure try hard to work in some 'sophisticated' chord changes. There are many better 45s that could be reissued, though. Would be interesting to see if this sells.

Yes, no one presses 40 copies of a record. 400 is probably more like it. I'd say there were 20 or so copies of this record in collections.

No doubt, Freddy. Since I live in Illinois, I have to drive to a store to buy one; I can't order online. I'm assuming the cost is to pay multiple band members but I don't know that for sure.
