Killed By California and Springtime In Belsen and a few others - o.g. or cdr copies

As of about 3 years ago i finally - after decades of consciously ignoring it - have taken a hard dive down into the vortex of DIY/lo-fi 70's/80's punk aka "KBD records". Not sure why it took me so long, but better late than never, right?

Anyway, there are a couple wild ass boot comps from the KBD netherworld i have not been able to unearth. The two big ones on my want list are Killed By California (a 2006 vol. of the KBD series on Redrum) and Springtime In Belsen, a 1998 comp which is still somewhat available in Europe, but horror stories about overseas shipping/shipping costs have got me spooked so i aint tryna take a chance on all that.

I'm willing to pay anywhere from $10 to $20 plus postage if someone in *North America* is lookin to part with a VG copy of either (or both) of these l.p.'s. If no one is looking to part with their copies of either record, i'd be really happy to get audio cdr's with HQ wav audio rips of both l.p.'s. I'd want the cover art copied too (we can work out on details about that in p.m.'s should cdr be the best way to go here).

I have a handful of other wants similar to this, including Bloodstains Across The UK vol.'s 3 and 4, and the cdr-only comp 'Deviants Have More Fun' (a Belgian collection of mostly US/Canuck lofi punkers screamin and snarling out hedonistic tributes to sketchy sex, ha!), so if you want a longer list lemme know and i'll post it here.

Again, my preferred price range is $10-$20 (give or take a few bucks) plus postage, and i'm only looking to buy from folks who live in North America

Have a NM copy of Springtime in Belsen in the sales bin, but postage indeed has jumped to 18 Euro even for a single LP from Germany to the US. I'll gladly consider trading for low-end garage 45s in clean condition, though ;)

If you only get one 45 from the "Belsen..." comp make it "Disco Pope", still dirt cheap and pure ramshackle bliss:

And just because it seems fitting trivia here: There's a connection between The Prats and our forum's main theme. These Scottish lads' 2nd 45 ("Die Todten Reyten Schnell", Da Da Rec, 1980) was released by the late Claus Herz, the same German guy who initially put together the genre defining "Acid Dreams" compilation in 1979. (see this old thread) Claus was a fascinating character, a scientist with a PhD from Heidelberg, apparently from a wealthy home judging from his car of choice at the time (Jaguar E-Type) but deep into Garage collecting at a very early stage of the scene as "AD" shows. He also put together the cleverly designed "Magic Cube" flexi. But Claus got massively into punk in the late 70s, went to Scottland to meet the Prats (handing over an OG copy of "Acid Dreams" to the boys) and put out their 45 without any notice of his involvement, the sleeve shows no info at all on the lable. Maybe he had already started a professional career in academics incompatible with putting out punk records or sixties comps? It should be noted that Claus only put out the 1st run of 100 copies of "Acid Dream", the countless repressings were done by some shady bootleger. Apparently Claus sold a large part of his garage collection in the early 80s, but got into collecting again big time 20 years later buying back a large part of his initial collection - and more on top. He died a few years ago and a German garage mailorder sold his garage 45s.

I remember this one ^ being sold by Bomp and Get Hip, maybe Crypt too. But it was gone in a flash. Even back when i wasn't into this stuff, i still loved the title/"volume number" of this one, lol, a great collector/music geek inside joke inspired by the endless parade of KBD comps which seemed to have no end in the 90's

thanks for the offer and the interesting back story of Claus Herz.

Unfortunately about 2 or 3 years ago i sold off most of my o.g. garage 45 collection (though i still have nearly all of those 45 tracks on reissue comps as well) so, even if i felt comfortable taking a chance on the postal service, this trade just wouldn't work out

But thanks anyway for getting back

They did give him (and the Pope) a nod on their second.
