They get hardly mentioned here. Alot of people think of them being the American Beatles.

Me thinks they were a great and musically innovative band. Way beyond UK invasion bands. Also non album 45's and some of Emmit Rhodes' solo efforts are tops in my opinion.

I'll need to revisit the Emmit Rhodes material (it didn't grab me upon earlier listenings). However, the Merry Go Round, got me hooked upon the first listening and I've yet to grow tired of them.

Great pop band. "Had To Run Around" would not have sounded out-of-place on Big Star's #1 Record lp five years later.
