I bid on this and I never heard it before, thought I wasn't gonna get it and ended up winning it. I I really didn't dig it at first listen, but i think it'll end up growing on me.

This record has been the cheapest record I've ever won on the 'bay at $2.25 bucks, it was comped on Garage Punk Unkowns vol.6 and is likely the cheapest I'll ever pay for any comped record on the 'bay. So I'm proud haha, even though is not a really rare one of course....

Haha, I just won a "Roaches" bin for 7.99 yesterday!

Been getting a few cool discs lately!
Stock copy of the rare non LP KAK debut 45. Great!

Old fave finally here

More psychedelics! Old fave - pretty cool with stock label

...and I finally got a copy of this top three(in my book) beat/psych rarity from Sweden.

...and also one of these... Sharon Tandy backed by Les Fleur de Lys, of course. Great

...another very good 2 sider. Tried to post it earlier but the link didn't work...

...b/w 'Revelation' which is great garage popsike w/ phasing, fuzz, sitar... + the a side is of course one of the great BF4 moments and real nice to have on 45 :)

Time for a round up of new arrivals from the last month or two. Missing a bunch but here is some of the less common ones since label scans of 45s you might not see that often is great to look at!

Amazing modern soul (or really not that modern, just new'ish) from a white Swedish blues guy that surprised everyone with the two songs on this 45. Just like a really good Spencer Wiggins if he'd been on top in the early 70s

This is as close as I got to RSD. Bought by a friend of mine after I sent him an sms. I can't cope with the mentality of RSD hoarders. They quite frankly make me flinch. And the Sundazed (lack of) design on this is akin to the Crypt re-issue 45s (haha!) but a great story and a worthwile project. Endless Boogie is gonna be fun. I fell asleep listening to their new lp but the concert last year in the same venue was great

The bosshoss group photo of Italian 45s recently posted reminded me of what I needed to own. A phenomenal 45 at an affordable price!

Curiosity got the better of me and I bought this. It ain't no Outer Mongolian Herd, that's for sure. A nice pop tune with some appaling elements in the chorus but overall a more pleasant experience than feared. Daisy. Lovely label.

Fabulous song. I hope those of you that did not own it got lucky with the Moerer link. Maybe he still has copies? Have not checked.

An upgrade of one of the best 2-siders ever pressed and released! First time I own a VG++ of this. Never tire of it.

This eluded me for years. Not that I ever saw it sell for much money. Once I forgot to put a snipe in and it sold for $3.25. It cost me $9.99 this time as a BIN. FAB song! Don't say why may be more coveted but this certainly deserves attention as well. Thanks to Rich S for putting this on his cd-r series some years back.

Funny to hear his first solo 45. Big fan of his first three albums from the 70s (I grew up with the third so yeah, I like that one as well...) I actually like this better than some of the Barons stuff. Seldom seen.

The next one is for fans of Bonehead Chrunchers or just good late 60s/early 70s rock. Like a more subdued Stonewall! But with actual songs. Haha!

Big shout out to Jens and the fact that buying records on facebook is actually an alternative

Cool song, wish I had the PS!

Cool enough frat rocker, bordering on novelty. Not in TBM

OK instrumental with shout outs. The 3 in TBM being moe or less where it's at.

When Quagmire 3 & 4 were released I got so pissed off about the sound quality I swore (half jokingly) I'd buy all the 45s on them and re-release it as a boot of a boot with proper sound. Up to 11 now on volume 3 but some proper rare ones missing that I'm not too sure I'm willing to pay the money they go for. Of the 27 cuts, one is lp only and one is unreleased so 14 to go!

This was actually tougher to find than several other more cherished Wand releases.

Finally pushed the button on this one. Sometimes you post-pone buying certain 45s because they are available and then suddenly they are not. Moerer was actually cheaper than BW. He must be going soft.

Time is running out on me, gotta sleep. Hope you've been enjoying the scans. good night!

New round of odds and sods!

The accompanying Century 45 to Knugels new coffee table book on homemade records + a 45 I´ve just never got around to buying until now.

John English was Euro 25 :)sunny:) and is another re-buy after my sell-out a few years ago. Rationals was a record I had held off buying for a long time since it´s quantity but now it´s home.

April was good. Another key item is stuck in customs. f´in US seller with his "honest" value declaration! As if it would EVER be his problem if he marked it down. Thanks for the $100+ this cost me & thanks for not letting me know you would do this. Hope you enjoy the feedback. I´m never bidding on auctions where they say they will state final value of the 45.

Sellers who give an "honest" value on the customs label are technically correct and law abiding but in my opinion are just wankers. I never buy from sellers like that again after being burned by them.....
So, they're really their own worst enemies.

Sometimes they don't realize they should mark down the customs. And the value on the customs form has nothing to do with insurance, which many don't realize either - Joey pointed that out to me.

Also, if the seller prints the shipping label, etc. through eBay, I don't believe they have a choice but to declare the package at the value per the auction/sale.

As far as I know there is no "law" forcing sellers to state the selling price (which is NOT, technically, the same thing as "value") on the customs sticker. The 'import tax' makes sense if you actually import things to resell, but when it's forced upon private collectors it's just a repressive form of punishment for buying things from outside of the EU.

I see the production credit on this is J. Burnett. I'm guessing that's J Henry Burnett aka T-Bone Burnett, but does anybody know for sure? His site lists the Van Dykes (!) in '66 and Legendary Stardust Cowboy in '68. I know he also did Whistler, Chaucer, Detroit and Greenhill (The Mods) on Uni in '68.

Is there an exhaustive list somewhere of his early productions?

Sure, you just delete the description and put whatever you want in that line.

Around here customs have long given up accepting whatever value sellers entered on the form. When you pick something up there, you need to proof what you paid the seller. If anything's fishy they check "ended sales" on the bay, sometimes they do that regardless. And even if you buy something privately they wouldnt accept "I sent $12 in cash" or "we swapped for a nice German Schwarzwälder Schinken" - they start gathering online-sales and tell you "well, this was/is for sale from ThomasFunk at $823.82 - so we use that as the value". Hell, they even have the bloody Manship soul price guide there.... The logic that you're not hurting domestic economy, as nobody over here is selling a Try-Angle on Orlyn and you're not intending to sell for the next couple of decades doesnt work, I tried it.

This post definitely needs a "not like" button!!

But have you found a way around this problem? Sounds like it is extremely expensive to collect records when you live in Germany. I would have been furious!

I asked the seller of the 45 I currently have stuck in customs why he marked it w/full value. He told me he worked in a government office and felt he could not falsify the value:wtf: I guess it is the risk one takes when buying records from a guy mainly selling decorative figures and toys, not 45s. God knows how he's packaegd it

But as luck would have it the company I work for have a license to customs clear so I did it myself with a slightly different value (haha!) so I got off with only perhaps $30-40 extra. Worth it.
