I've always really liked this psychedelic take on the Nancy & Lee classic. Good flip too

Wonderful trash

A few $1 grabs from an estate sale and the flea market...

Some of the records-if not all of them- came from the collection of a local guy that had a habit of customizing sleeves with cardboard cutouts, masking tape, and markers. The above Astronauts disc is one of the more extreme examples I've seen over the years. The record in the sleeve was "Go Go Go", which is a great record, but he customized a "For You From Us" sleeve. Weirdness.

Hah! It's got a certain sharm for shure. This guy took it further and just glued stuff he thought represented him well onto a cut manila folder. Actually the handwriting on the Astronauts cover is almost identical in style to what's written on the inside of this folder.

Here are some of my thrifty finds.

One Westex may know? Can't find anything about this Country/Rockabilly thing out of Texas.

My 2 yr olds favourite find. Superb dragstering Rockabilly.

A bunch of garage finds. How rare is the Mojo Men?

All thrifted except the Hullaballoos which was a $20 antique shop purchase and feels like I wasted $15 for it.

Yes. "Off The Hook" is about a $30 record near mint. "Dance With Me" was a regional hit, that is a $10 record with a gun, as that famous New Orleans based record dealer used to say....

While running through central Texas on vacation I grabbed this for a quarter on a hunch... okie dokie 80s punky pop with a Brit feel. No picture sleeve though.

And from the same twenty-five cent box...

... fun Diddley beat 45 by country singer Dallas Frazier.

A favorite haunt here in town just picked up a couple of 100 45s that looked to have been unused juke stock. I dug through in a hurry and spent $10 on these and a couple of other less interesting discs.

Crazy, fun record.

Fun and ragged chick group R&B shouter.

BIG want. Finding this local chick's 45 was some kinda nice as it is super scarce. She's from a small town just north of here, but recorded this with Slim Willet over in Abilene. It's also significant because it's the first recorded performance by local guitar slinger/songwriter Jack Smith. Fun and ragged record. Absolutely no finesse on the break... just strum as hard you can.

I'll go back next week to look a little closer when I have more time.

Cool finds! Would not mind owning any of those. Chardon Square was nice as well bearing in mind the year it was released. The Ambassadors was the winner for me, need to own!

I usually post a label scan but tonight my scanner refuses to accept the Mac so a YouTube clip will have to suffice. A splendid 2-sider purchased from a strong grader, maker of the comp featured and also a sleeping member of this forum. Thank you Mike!
