Might thy aural newbies tickle my eye

The Gentlemen is a huge find, crack or no.

Disraeli should be in the quantity find list, if it isn't already is. Moerer's been offering copies with sleeve for $40 for at least a year, which is a reasonable price considering both sides are great. Not only were the sleeves 4-color, but the pressings were stereo! Which caused problems for DJs. My copy, which wasn't from Moerer, is remastered to mono for airplay.

These two longtime wants made it into my postbox this week , with a little help from an esteemed forum member .

In what order is the first and second run of this 45? I just (finally!) bought a copy of this last week. mine has the Century logo.

How do you know? Is it on his own website? (the quantity left)

Yes, you can always see how many copies he's got registered in his database.

That's not saying that he has ENTERED every copy that he's got into his database.

But basically:

Add a record to your shopping cart.

Go to you shoppping cart and change the quantity you want to buy of that record to some extreme amount, like "500".

On the next page it will say something along the lines of "sorry, you wanted to buy 500 copies of this title, but we've only got 23 copies in stock".

I once did this for a Parliaments 45 on Revilot. Entered 500 copies and got no warning message. He had 750+ copies in stock...

Almost forgot about knocking off a top want a little while back! It's ugly, but the styrene looks and plays NM-! And it cost about the same as The Satisfactions on LEE!

Cool, overlooked, and cheap 60s acoustic mover from Mr. Party Doll.

Someone found a stash and made it a cheapie.

Weekend travel finds...

I'd never buy it for three bills, but did not hesitate in pulling the trigger for two bucks at a CenTex antique shop.

Hell yeah! Part of a stack of r&b, doo wop, n' rock n' roll 45s found a stop or two after the Moods.

From the early 70s, but still a great soul record. Condition be a bit wobbly, though. A $1 thrift find.

A 30 cent find from the mountains of east New Mexico back in July. My wife let me look for records on our 10th anniversary getaway.

Estate sale find from a few weeks back. Already had it, but thought the note from the producer was a nice touch.

Spent me some big money, for me;), yesterday on this blistering mind freaker. Mono press $25. From the new second hand record shop in Charleston WV, dude is maybe taking a big risk opening a mostly a vinyl place but good luck to him. ...and he even had a little box of mostly trashed 45's waiting there just for me. Now he says he'll hide mid 60's stuff just for me.:tiphat:

Is that from the same guy on eBay who was selling the mold/water-damaged records a few months ago?

Yep, he's actually a garage fan himself and knows his stuff. Not sure if anyone's bought from him, but he's a really cool dude in person. Doubt you'll meet a nicer guy.

Went deep for these three local 45s in a trade...

Scarce oddball folk from the Texas Panhandle. It's got a loner feel.

Buddy Holly influenced teenbeat from '64... released right before the Chevelle V raided the group. Haven't added any new Gaylo 45s since scoring a minty Continentals a few years back, and it was especially nice to add this particular release. I'd guess I'm about half-way to finishing the label.

Couple of copies of this were recently turned up north o' here and I'm mighty happy to have procured one. I know it was rated in TBM, but anybody here actually have their other release?
