... I just saw that Klang&Kleid sells the Revenge-lp for ......24 Euro which is 32,5 USD!!! Wofgang Völkel (who is a good friend of mine) hasn't fixed his price yet, but I hope he'll think it over.... no doubt, somone wants to CASH IN, but really BIG!

I don't really understand what everyone's getting so worked up about.
It's easy: you either buy the compilation, or you don't.

Do you really think a 17 year old pimple face will see this LP and think 'Hm, it's time to check out this '60s garage punk thing everyone's talking about - let this be my first purchase', and then never to buy another compilation again because he's so disappointed in the mp3'y sound-quality?
I'm pretty sure all 300 buyers know pretty well what they are buying, and it's their right to do so.

Call me a sucker or whatever, but I'm getting this. Hopefully the sound quality is good, and if it is, it should be a pretty solid compilation. I believe I have all the songs already - on old comps, as mp3 files or on forum comps, but I still think it's nice to have it on vinyl.

Of course I prefer my '60s garage comps done the Crypt/Norton etc. way, I would be insane if I didn't, but I look forward to hearing this.

FWIW, I think the cover looks nice. Not that it matters.
 
And the Kookie Cook song Revenge had to have come off the ACE Milky Way comp. It was a unreleased song from a master tape that I found. Suck it:confused:
 
The only thing that bothers me for real in this thread is getting singled out in some shitty lame-ass post about being this-or-that old fart that Syl is feeling sorry for, for some whacky reason... Some guy who doesn't know me use me as some kinda lame 'example' for something he wants to get across and doesn't even reply when I comment i a nice manner to his IMO downright insulting post. But whatever - I'm soo over getting into arguments on the net. But just so you know Syl, do not ever use me again to get something across in a post like that. I don't really give a fuck and I don't have a beef with you or anything... you're probably a nice guy and all, but you're way off in your comment where you name me specifically and you have no right to pretend to know shit about me. Just so you know.
Btw if it wasn't for 'crazy record collectors' you wouldn't have any f**kin compilations at all.
 
Sylvain I don't know what frustrates you so much , criticism is fairly due, a lot of members here have been part of this scene/culture from the beginning of comps when new discs were being discovered and immediately put into wax for others to hear and see them. Do we need new comps for new generation of garage fans, definitely, do they deserve label scans quality audio, photos and hopefully liner notes. Definitely! And that is what people ask for here.

Actually I am working on a regional comp on southwest rocknroll incl. garage some instros and surf. But I wanna do it the best I can, some photos some liner notes and the most important reason great quality audio. Analog to analog.

I can give you something, 45's are expensive yes but i've seen people spend 200 bucks on freaking shirt and jeans at
the local mall, is all on what you chose to spend your hard earned money on.

And finally I'm pretty sure there's a few of us punks in these forum, after all buying records is part of DIY culture isn't.? Not only 60's garage is expensive, Have you seen prices on kbd early hardcore 7 inches....

sorry to read the above comment, but the past hours have been a pain to handle between daily tasks and trying to react to what was said here. To sum up things, I appreciated your comment and should have added that my attack was not really *personal*, even if I mentioned your name. We indeed don't know each other (even if I interviewed you looong ago, at the time you were running Wrecks.... do you remember ?), and I wouldn't imagine writing something nasty against you there, same with everybody here anyway.
I actually mentioned you just as the incarnation of my deception regarding the comments: someone that I've been following in his musical adventures since years, that I've always imagined with a kinda "punk" way of thinking thru the cool sounds you've been releasing all those last years vs. some of your last posts at the exact opposite of what I would have imagined coming from you.
Anyway, once again, nothing against you at a *personal* level

hum, more than 11pm here and time for me to close that debate. Feelin rather bitter after all those wonderfull messages, but I guess it's in part my fault and that I shouldn't have react against the main view. Don't feel like I'll have the energy or envy to talk about that again, everything has already been discussed here since months when it comes to comps, and you'll have the pleasure to discuss about the next dogshit comp to come out without me. Believe me, it will be boring without someone like me there ;)
I 'll leave for good this forum right after this last post of mine

It's been decades since I had a good food fight!!! I cook too good dinners now haha. Made a 'tjalknol' (=freezelump) today... Trad swedish steak that you put in the oven deep frozen. +75 degrees for ca 12 hours and then marinate for another 6-8 hours. Will be great on sunday! Melts in your mouth.

I'm not a very good cook but I love steaks. About a year ago I decided to fry a steak in loads of melted butter and added some nice spicy seasonings.....Voila....I now make some killer steaks.
