While there have been several reissues of this one already, none of them have come close to capturing the original 1968 pressing. The Time Lag label is in the process of putting out a vinyl only reissue that should render all previous reissues obsolete.

Freddie Fortune gave me a nice transfer of this a few years back. It was like hearing the album for the first time. It was a big difference. That said, I pulled it out a while back for a road trip and only made it through about half the record before the other passengers begged me to take it off. I still think about a third of it is super strong though, just not for everybody. One thing's for sure, I never pull out the RE LP. Just sounds flat. So I imagine there'll be a lot of folks ready to trade out for this new one if it really sounds good.

Oooh, that's great news. I have a cd-r from a vinyl transfer which was done by (I think?) Patrick The Lama years ago. Luckily I've never heard the old version where the speed apparently is not correct. Hopefully this new reissue won't make that same mistake...

Yep, I also have a CDR of Patrick's transfer; the original vinyl has a warmth and presence that is simply lacking in all of the reissues.

Nemo Bidstrup, the man behind Time Lag, is committed to doing the Bachs right, so I believe this really will be the last word on the album.

Great name :)

They're also reissuing this one:

The 2 or 3 songs I've heard from this LP are great!

Yeah, what little I have heard from the Eddie Callahan LP I have liked! It's the sort of album you wish McCartney would have made, if he was willing to loosen up a bit. Some of the synth work is truly bent.
