From what I hear the Garland Records guy offered the tapes around to most of the usual suspect reissue labels and they all turned it down, as there was no paperwork covering the recordings. Seems Garland was a custom label - wonder if they asked any of the groups permission. If they didn’t even know who the Heard were, they obviously didn’t ask them. But mostly, the material was for the most part too mediocre. I guess they found their mark in Sundazed.
Some of the Neil Hopper tapes had been floating around on the collector circuit for years, as a certain notorious northern California-based collector (M. C.) had access them to them before Sundazed swooped in. There are full sets by the E-types, Raiks Progress out there. According to Alec P, the best three cuts from the Stained Glass performance are on the CD he did on the band for Big Beat. The rest is all stuff like Winchester Cathedral ;-{
