I've messed up all the old BHQS's running order and which one goes where and what is BHQS #2 & #5 etc...

Pfft, have you got anything documented? Or anyone?

Thanks

Sorry David this probably doesn't provide the answer you're looking for, but...

If I'm reading your question clearly, I think it's a misunderstanding. BHQS (BossHoss Quality Sound) is an industry standard remastering format, not a comp series. Each version represents a sound quality advance on the previous version. Therefore, there could be hundreds of tracks recorded in BHQS version 9, for example.

Mostly the tracks I've posted in BHQS, are not grouped into "comps". For a start, songs downloaded via the internet are not really comps, but more like the collector cassette tapes that circulated in the 80s and 90s. Secondly as you may know, I don't think individual 60s garage songs can ever really be cobbled together in any meaningful way (although Back From The Grave came close).

Which is why I now mostly present bunches of tracks with disposable titles such as BHQS9.5. I'm now against trying to impose any personal interpretation on the genre, via pigeon-holed, stylistically contrived comp collections and titles. I'll just let the individual recordings speak for themselves, as clearly as possible. The idea is to load them all into a music player, select a track according to your mood, or select random play and enjoy. Like you do with 45s.
