And then there were 3...
TOM WEIR, former drummer of THE APPARITIONS from Kansas City (of "She's So Satisfyin'" fame) passed away in February, age 66. At his memorial, a former high school classmate flew in from Washington DC & gave a moving tribute to TOM, calling him the coolest guy he'd ever met. While praising him, he pulled out his Caped Crusader 45 + the Norton comp that features "SSS" for all to appreciate. The service closed with a recording of "Amazing Grace," followed by.... yes, you guessed it, "She's So Satisfyin'". Even the young pastor (w/ one of the wooliest mountain man beards that I've ever seen) was groovin' to it.
On a more positive APPARITIONS note - "She's So Satisfyin'" is going to be featured in an upcoming PBS film that's in the works. It's titled "Tower" & is a documentary about the Charles Whitman shootings at the Univ of Texas in Aug, 1966. It's scheduled to be aired later this year or early 2017. A super shout-out to the film's music supervisor - a member of this forum - who was able to make this happen. Muchly appreciated, M.M.
