Here's a prospectus for Re-Car Records (Deacons, Rave-Ons) which was the parent of the Bud-Jet label that put out the Top Teen Bands LP's. At $1.50 a share, I just might have to bust open the piggy bank, if it's not too late!

Here's some paraphernalia related to the Blades Of Grass "It Isn't Easy" on Fine. The order for the pressing of 1000 copies (which I have somewhere but can't find), would have been written out on the May 27th, 1970 (5th month of 1970, on the 27th day). Hence the record catalog number 57027. Knowing how Fine Studios worked, that would have probably been the same day, or the day after the recording session.

It also shows the cost - 18.5 cents per disc.

I had an opportunity to get the invoice and related paperwork for Dy and the Motivators on the Lin Jo label from El Paso. 200 copies pressed. i regret it, is nice to have that piece of history. the business bejhind the music.

Slightly off the garage path (but it will sort of related as you'll see) is this song-poem package I won off the Bay a few years ago. It was for 8 songs written by one Frank Leeper. Besides the 4 45's,

also included were the original cassette Mr. Leeper recieved from the label:

and the sheet music for each song:

Unfortunately, on this one, the title wasn't a code word for what we might have hoped.

It's interesting how Mr. Leeper is credited for words and music on this one, considering the music is "Secret Agent Man" (and note the "copyright" date on the cassette label). Maybe some of the musicians here will recognize the melody.
