Red House - Sunflower/Mary Anne - hard to find?

Cool song - thanks for posting.
They did a good job ripping off their own rip-off of Defecting Grey :)

This 45 dates from 1969, about one year after the first one.

There is a chance it may be reissued from the master tape in the near future.

Here is the tape box by the way.

Whoa man! How did you get ahold of that one? I really hope that they will be reissued. Haven't even heard "Sunflower" but I think that it will be as good as "Mary Ann".

I spoke to one of the members of the Red House, who joined after the English 45. Photos and story here:

Since the Red House 45 may be reissued, I didn't include any sound files. I'd say Sunflower has a definite country feel to it. The Youtube video of Mary Anne leaves off part of the drum intro, by the way.

Is it as impossible to find as Stereo Shoestrings "On The Road South" (since they basically were the same band)? To MY knowledge, both sides are uncomped. Does anyone know?

I found four un-played copies of the Red House 45 in a thrift shop in Corpus Christi back in 1983. Also scored multiples of The Chosen Ones "The World's Dark Side" (on Gulfside) and a couple of odd Texas rockabilly records...all brand new for 50 cents each. I was happy, but it would have been an even better day if it was the Stereo Shoestring and Four More records instead.

Happy-go-lucky you! :) I don't think that I have had the pleasure to hear Four More, but I assume that it is quite rare. I know that I will never ever hold a copy of Stereo Shoestring. I think that the chance of going to Hogwarts next fall is bigger, so I understand that you would've been more lucky that day. Did you buy all the Red House records?

Yeah, I eventually farmed most of that find out to collectors over the years. I did hold back a copy of the Circle C Band 45 for myself (a nice early-60s Texas rocker with heavy George Jones vibes). That's it.
