anyone know the release date of Cannibal & the Headhunters 'Land of 1,000 Dances'?

ARSA shows both their single and Thee Midniters version hitting local charts in mid-January, '65, while Thee Midniters actually made the local charts in Topeka in December '64.

One member of the Headhunters said it was released May of '64, could this be correct?

I wonder if Thee Midniters' version came out first? I know their version was recorded in October '64.

This is the best I could find online. Δ54457 ?

If only I could make out that second number!

Delta / Monarch 54457 is late October, 1964.
Can't be a 7 for the second digit, as that would place it around June / July, 1965.

I don't have Thee Midniters version on 45, anybody have that handy with deadwax info?

Mine says: delta sign 54957-X 45-ate 66 re 1

My mistake. The first picture is the first pressing and the next picture will be the one with the ''re'' in the dead wax. Notice the time reduction from 2:46 to 2:10.

Cool, the 2nd pressing. They must've done something to the mix, identified by the Re-1.
Regardless, the monarch # indicates a November, 1964 mastering & original pressing date

I found two reviews for Thee Midniters "Land Of 1000 Dances" - Cashbox and Record World Magazines, for the week of Dec 12, 1964. This means the 45 came out for sale / distribution at least 15 days prior to the dates of the magazines. The 3 big music industry mags always ran their issue dates for two weeks in the future. A Dec 12 issue was completed on around Nov 28.
