the saddest news I can think of, my friend the Lolly Pope aka Werner Voran died 2 weeks ago from a heartstroke. I never met Werner but we were like brothers and changed mails nearly every day. From the very first time I read the liner notes for PraeKrautPandaemonium, I loved his unique humor, and we shared precisely the same taste with music. I felt very proud when he asked me to do an "uncomped of Electrick Loosers"-sampler for which he sent me MCs from his archive*. I will miss him a lot, and the community of 60s- Garage music has lost one of the leading experts of German and British Beat and a generous master to look up to. I know many of you, just as myself, were waiting on the next volumes of his extraordinary "Beat Wunderbar / Tommknockers" -series (http://spurensicherung.blogspot.it) which now sadly ends at Vol 23. RIP Werner.

* in memory and honour of Werner I've reupped both samplers: http://www67.zippyshare.com/v/45053360/file.html (vol. 5) http://www29.zippyshare.com/v/41885048/file.html (vol. 6)

Very sad indeed.
Prae Kraut Pandemonium is probably my favourite non-US comp series of all time.
He had a great sense of humor.

This is really sad news. I was just listening to the latest, and now sadly, the last of the Tommyknockers Beat Club comps the other day, and marveling at the song selection...

I hope that the two series of comps that Werner created will be a legacy that his family and friends can listen to and fondly remember him by.
