Society, Piccadilly Circus and more...please!

What label is the Gay Intruders on? Been looking for it but unable to obtain any info for purchase,tx

Another thing I like about the B-W discs - they look, feel and sound like genuine '60s pressings. Analog mastering? It sure sounds like it. Nice flat disc surface with no '70s style raised lip. Great label and company sleeve design. Cut with lots of punch and volume (but still not as much as a typical mid-60s release though, which seems to be impossible these days).

The tracks were mastered analog by John Hull - still at it at 90 years old.

There was a recent collector's release of two unissued songs by the Royal Chessmen from Ohio that is very good.
Thanks Mike, the Royal Chessmen were from Dover, Ohio. We (My Mind's Eye & BW) put that one out along with the Society, the Piccadilly Circus and the unreleased One Way Street(s) singles. Working on some more cool ones soon but I think the next thing will be a late 60s LP who's sound isn't strictlt Teenbeat, ha!

Thanks Mark. I'm super proud of the packaging on all our archival releases. The stock company sleeve especially. Theirs made on the same paper as originals would have been by a printer I found who was willing to use old equipment they hadn't touched since the 80s. All our releases are 100% analog so far. We try to get them as hot as we can. They sound great turned up and we've been getting quieter mastering so you can turn up the newer ones even more!

From experience I know how difficult it is to get quality, thin paper sleeves made. Most of the gluing machines made these days can only handle much thicker paper. Good on you (Charles?) for seeking out a great solution.

Hahaha! You're absolutely right. These are hand glued by the owner and his wife. Had him find me the original paper of 50's/60's labels that we still have to test out. They need to be baked before running some test pressings. Trying to get everything as original as I can. Hey yeah, it's me, charles. Hope you're well and staying safe. Cheers.

Charles at My Minds Eye and Mr Hull have done a great job keep keeping everything as close to a 60s press and sound as possible for the BW releases. When I bought the archive and label from the family of Quentin Welty i told them that I would one day continue to release 45s on the label and Charles has made that happen. Thanks Charles. Quint would be Proud!
