Dallas's Exotics delivered, with " I Was Alone " one of the more powerfully produced records of the era, relentlessly accelerated by recurrent intervals of stinging fuzz bitten guitar, seemingy ill intentioned & whiplash sharp, framed within an absolutely shuddering, floor shaking bass. Five ***** teen hoodoo grind & snarl in excelsis...
IMNSHO ---> Beastly savagery on offer here. The impossibly perfect guitar lines re-right R&R in reel tyme. 60 seconds in ought to serve to dispel any doubts. Everything audible distinguishes this performance--> my pick as the best cover of a Beatles song ever. By anyone. Ever. Flips a winner as well. I think they were from Tx.?
The Y' Alls captured lightning onto vinyl on this relentlessly elusive disc.
This keeps company with Oedipus & a few others in the WTF category. Very few others.
