The 10 Grand Barrier

Sometimes CM will drop his prices, but that doesn't happen often. I wonder if someone wealthy will buy it on speculation? There's a lot of people who are looking to invest money outside of the bank/stock market.

How many garage records have sold for 10K? any? I'm aware of a few sales >5K.

AFAIK the highest sale for a record that is NOT a collectible artist (Beatles, Elvis, Springsteen, Sex Pistols, Rolling Stones) was the Frank Wilson on Soul for about 38K. Then Mello Souls followed by Junior McCants (both above 15K)

I do know of a copy of the 1st West Coast Pop Art Experimental Band LP (Fifo) that sold for over $15K about 15-20 years ago and then was resold for even more (over 20).
A couple of copies of the Dark LP have broken the 10K barrier.

My original post only considered US 45s, but I would not be surprised if a few other LPs from various countries sold for over 10K.
I heard about the WCPAEB LP sale, it was for a copy with cover, of which there are only a couple confirmed to exist. There's a few out there without covers.

While this single is truly great, and I know of very few people even here in TX who have seen one, that price seems pretty inflated. I always figured it would be closer to the $3-5 K mark.
