Here is the threatened Autograph Thread. I started last week but got bogged down. I will continue adding more over time. I'm sure others have many autographed items in their collection which would fit here. Apart from the coolness of the autograph, it also can help identify band members. Personally I prefer signatures on the inner sleeve, not the label. Beware the inner sleeve signature that impresses onto the vinyl! :sadd: Luckily this doesn't happen very often.

Many of the really cool autographs I have were kindly sent to me by Oktay G. who had the pleasure of receiving them personally from band members, while conducting research for releases on his Oktay record label.

I'll start with a set of those, signed by 5 of the six members of the Apollos (VA).

When I featured the Groop Ltd. (Rochester, NY) in my online Fine Recording Studio excavation website, guitrarist Jake Gerber contacted me and consented to an interview which I published on the site. He also generously sent me a signed copy of the Groop's rare 45 on Integrity (he only had 2 copies total), together with two original fluorescent stickers and a photo, shown below.

Most of my autographed copies came and went in the collection I had to sell prior to My Collection vol.2 and vol.3 🤪when technology was more user friendly. Such as The Brymers of Sacrifice fame who sold stock of their 45 on the forum and, if people wished for it, signed the sleeve. I'm sure some of you still on here have a copy.

Only one left in the archive is this one, signed by organ maestro Rob Gardner.

I love this thread - autographs are always a fun bonus when you pick up a 45. Sometimes it takes me a while to realize it's not the owner's name scrawled on there but a band member! These were mostly signed 'in the day' and are often somewhat un-decipherable, alas, though I did get Question Mark, Don Tapert of the Beau Biens, Scott Morgan and Bill Figg of the Rationals, and Marty Somberg of the Southbound Freeway in person. The Five Bucks was given to a college professor friend of mine who had some of the band members in his class - he had no memory of it 50+ years later, but I found the record in his mostly classical LP colletion when I was helping him clean up his house.

The fantastic Cavestomp shows in NYC were a great place to catch band members. Empty sleeves fit in a pocket just in case one was nearby and so I got some/all of the Beau Brummels, Blues Magoos, Syndicate of Sound, Richard and the Young Lions, and Mark Lindsay (and a few more I can't find at the moment). Also caught Dave Allen and Link Wray at shows in Detroit, and Cub Koda and Roger McGuinn in Ann Arbor. Oh, and from an old band member I got this Wayne Cochran 45 that was signed in the '60s "To a Soul Brother" - !
