I've created a tribute page for The Avengers on Facebook.

Not only will I focus on the Avengers but also other groups various members were associated with such as The Yankee Dollar and the Sons Of America.... I'll also hone in on other combos on the various labels they were signed to such as Current and Starburst.

Also other projects their producer Gary Paxton and songwriter Kenny Johnson were involved with. There is a lot of items to cover, it will be a trip to see where I'll end up but I'm sure I'll uncover a lot more goodies along the way.

Alec Palao has all the Gary Paxton Bakersfield stuff and has talked extensively to Kenny and the band members etc. He’s planning an Avengers LP with unissued sides, to come soon. On the imminent Happy Lovin’ Time comp on Ace/Big Beat there’s stuff by the Chocolate Tunnel and their other incarnations like Homogenized Dirt, Bogart Cult etc. There are a lot of tapes on these acts.

Alec and Ace have located a lot more stuff in the last year and are still working on a L.A. garage comp that will include the Avengers stuff. So it still is at least 6 months away. As far as a Avengers LP, maybe next year, if that. One thing about Alec/Ace is they never half-ass anything.
