Our buddy Axel was cool as hell to send me his bands' ROYAL FLARES cd & limited 4 track EP. You guys have to get these, they are great!!! I love these guys 'cause they don't sound modern at all. Pure 1966 punk. Kinda cool to hear my local Sacramento, Ca. buddies the FUGITIVES Blowin' My Mind cover. Love the covers but you know a truly great band when the originals are as good or better. The ROYAL FLARES Powered By Love is tops and the best song of the 4 on the EP. Another must have. Thanks Ax for the cool stuff....

Even if the Royal Flares had no musical merrits whatsoever (which is NOT the case): they still made g45 history with establishing one of the more unlikely coalitions: frantic-axel-hicksville - the axis of the Flares - who would have thought?
