The Seeds documentary

A great resume too. Forgot that he played on Kip Tyler's "She's My Witch".
If you’re interested in Bruce Johnston and the early LA music scene, pick up Joel Selvin’s book Hollywood Eden. I‘ve just started reading it. It’s amazing how such a pool of talent was so condensed in such a small area all at the same time: Johnston, Jan and Dean, Nancy Sinatra, Kim Fowley, Phil Spector and so many more. The book details how they all intermingled. Very interesting a few chapters into it...

I watched this Friday night. As expected, the beginning that focuses on the Seeds’ heyday is excellent. I didn’t need to see the frail and drugged out Sky/Sunlight of his later years, however. Both Jan Savage and Daryl Hooper carry much of the narrative and it’s great seeing them both looking so good (and both are likable). There are hundreds of incredible photos are probably all existing footage is shown. Anybody that’s a Seeds fan will enjoy it.
