Although these guys seem to be credited with coming out of Burlingame, I've recently been able to confirm that they in fact originated out of the Napa Valley, as per this clipping. Does anyone happen to own a copy of their 45 on Highland credited to Debbie Williams and the Unwriten Law? I'm curious as to how it sounds. It turns out that Debbie was a fourteen year old star of the Ice Capades who's wealthy father who paid for her and the band to fly down to L.A. to record the 45.

I have the 45 and the picture sleeve.
Both sides are good, if you like the chirpy girl - group pop type vocals / sound. Debbie's vocals are double tracked on "Ask Me" which is the tune that is a bit more aggressive, so to speak. The backing band adds some fuzz and garagey backing.

Thanks, Mike, I did wonder if it had a similar sound to the Strata 45 as both sides seem to have been penned by group members from the Unwritten Law, but with a fourteen year old girl on vocals there had to have been some compromise.

BTW, how is the picture sleeve, does it feature a shot of Debbie and the band? You may be interested to hear that Debbie is now the stage manager for American Idol.

One side has Debbie standing out in front of the band who are posed in the background. All are standing on a rocky beach.
The other side has a close-up of freckle-faced Debbie from the neck up.

I should have mentioned that the Unwritten Law are not heard vocally, if so, they are mixed way underneath Debbie's dual tracked vocal where she harmonizes with herself.
