Thomas Funk

Don't understand your point.

Duplicates, well yes if they have been released on various labels or have different picture sleeves. However two identical copies...that's not adding anything IMO, but respect to wanting to own doubles or triples, to each his own.

I BARELY won that auction, Mike. Were you surprised at the bids?.

Nope.
Based on rarity, and the prices achieved for easier to find records, "Stacey" was a bargain.

I had a very clean spare copy around 4 years ago but it had a stress crack that went from the outer edge to 1/3 of the way into the groove. Played without any clicking or pops. I dealt it to a friend for a good price, had cash offers 2 or 3x above what I dealt it to him for.

I hear ya. I think of it as insurance if something happens to one, plus a valuable trading asset. Also, I probably prioritize the archaeological expedition of finding the record more than most. To me, those factors greatly outweigh that a duplicate does not add to my music per se. But, if I only wanted to hear the music, I'd listen on youtube and would never have bought a record. or I would just buy records I want to play a lot. I buy CT garage even if I think it sucks. Like you say--to each his own.

Thomas has the Yesterdays Children French EP on ebay for $900. I'm interested in seeing how this goes because I bought it a couple of months ago for less than a third of that. It is moderately rare though. He also has No Way on there for $174.
What is a record "worth"? What someone will pay for it at the time.

I can still get on Vinyl Vigilante and the Tommy Funk post is gone. He must have worked it out with the buyer. Sold him a damaged $1000 rekkid.

Well I paid $750 for an absolute mint copy five years ago. What's the condition of the copy you scored?

Wondering what the ebay copy goes for. It used to be very rare until Rock and Roll collectors let go of some of the ones they had in their collection once they found out that Yesterday's Children wasn't an early sixties R&R band...

A copy for sale by my good friend Hans Kesteloo:

Mine was a VG. It was just a lucky easy find for a change. I never have those. From France itself.

wait so is the thread guy gonna buy a 3rd copy of stacey now?

3rd? No, the third last year was enough. The price for the second was a third of the first, and the price of the third was a third of the second. Bidding interest declined dramatically.
