Just got my copy of the Briks 45 which was listed as VG+. It is beyond destroyed. I know he also sold a copy of the Velvet Illusions 45 too. Also, the shipping carton was, well, creative. Lucky it even arrived.

Oh well, not the end of the world. I'll just keep lookin' for a nice copy. Just wanted to let others know who bought something from him that the grading is off. I'm sure he's probably a nice guy who just doesn't know much about grading records. Or shipping them.

Les Harris

Probably the WORST mail order record dealer on the planet. Radwill, the Count, etc have good cases, but Harris wins the all around (bad grading, packing, communication) award. I've also heard some pretty harsh gossip about him.

I'd go call on Les if I lived a wee bit closer...a friend of mine, who by all means should have known better, didn't recognize one of Les' countless eBay accounts and blew $500ish on a couple of his "Mint-" 45s. They were of course thrashed. But ol' Les had closed the account even before the records arrived up here.
Incredible he is allowed to still operate like that on eBay, opening and closing accounts in an endless loop.

Good thing is you can always spot a Les 45 scan & description, regardless of account name. Unless you're a newbie, which is probably how he still makes his money.

F*cking scammer.

Is he around at fer instance Allentown and other more profiled shows?

I've never bought anything off Les Harris because his label scans are pathetic. I'd rather not risk any of my hard earned cash on a seller who can't even scan a record label properly.

I've got a picture in my mind of him being a bald, fat '50 something' year old with bad hygiene. Possibly even addicted to porn. Am I right?
.

Does Les Harris still have his shop in San Antonio? I recall going in there back in 1994 when I was down there visiting my older brother and thinking "this is where records go to die." Absolutely nothing in there at all.

Who is The Count?

The count is an east coast guy who does shows and ebay. He has some crazy taste in pants. Those big baggy electric colored things that weight lifters wear when they're tooling around town. My first thought when I looked at the Briks record was FUCK, did I just buy a record from Les Harris? I grabbed the weird carton that it came in and checked the name and address just to be sure. Not him but very much like a Les experience.

Apparently this is Les Harris:

Ha! Cool. He has The Look for sure. In fact he is almost identically looking to the guy who used to own the most run down porn/used record store in Oslo, Pretty Price.

THE SYSTEM SUCKS!! alright.

I met the count at a record show in Pittsburgh and bought the lp the return of the young pennsylvanians. he said he had been in the group the down children and pointed himself out in the picture of the band on the back. he still looked like the picture with the hair, beard and clothes

USA TV Series about Aliens taking on a human appearance with the intention of conquering our Planet. They're called "V"s for visitors.

I think Les has a lizard look about him. May even have a forked tongue, infact looking at that picture I'm certain. :D

He is kinda reptilian. On another funny note, I received a crappy looking package today in the mail. You know the kind, two pieces of mix matched, jagged cut cardboard covered in copious amounts of tape. Inside was a plastic grocery bag housing a 45 with no sleeve. I was even further puzzled when I realized it was not my record, nor had I bought anything from the seller. I found the ended auction and the buyer has private feedback. The record is nothing exciting but the whole deal is very weird. Sellers auction says he's in Canada. Return address is NJ. Record was mailed from NY!?!

Now I am glad that I lost this auction! Sorry to hear about your winning experience though!
