Ultimate '60s garage compilation series pipedream

Double LP would be perfect! What does your dream say about the content of the volumes? Based on states, style or time? Or just the TBM 1000 from 1 to 1000? Although it's just a dream, I like to dream in color... ;)

It should be done backwards! Start with vol. 32 (or 31?), which includes TBM 1000-969, and so on.
Culminating in the monsterous volume 1 (TBM 32-1). :)

I have a feeling it would be somewhat difficult to get the rights to include the Castiles acetate...

dont think it'd be a good idea. What's needed here is not a pile of tracks put one after the other following the TBM ranking, which would result in another catalogue-like comp, but far better than that: a piece of art, assembled with taste and a perfect flow .

Flow is overrated ;)

We had that one before. But IF the double-LP-dream could become reality, it should have something better to hold it together than a mathematical countdown. BHQS10 would be "the comp that ends all comps"-series, at least for the broader crowd ouside the "need to hear it all" circles. So the definition of perfection shouldnt stop with sound and presentation but also incl curatorial features: regions, styles, labels...

Ah, the sheer excitement to think of this...

I'd say the gatefold double LP option for the TBM top 1000 , as nobody needs an exact repro of YGMM or Talk Talk . And the exact repro 45s, complete with flipsides , option for the G 100 , as those are out off reach for mere mortals . I don't think cd's are necessary , a free download voucher for mp3's could be offered ( w/ vinyl purchase ) instead .

We can pay money upfront so you will see a guaranteed break-even at the horizon.
I would also love a possibility to download flacs with the tracks on the album. I have this friend who released an album and she made it possible to d-load the tracks on the internet. You got some kinda code in the cover.

This all sounds very logical to me.

But then the lead off track would be 'Psychedelic Woman' by the Crusade!

"She's got big hips like a buffalo..."

I can see that approach working for the G45 series. The G100 could be issued as 4 custom boxes, 25 discs per box.

I really like the idea of having the repro discs come in a custom box rather than a comp lp.. at about 275 probably 300 a box, that would come up to 1100.00 to 1200.00 for the G100. that is not bad.

Now for the complete g1000 that would be a life endeavor both to sell and BUY!!!

States would be great - I'll re-pester bosshoss to start towards the middle of the alphabet with the letter I for Indiana. :D

Hi, first-time poster here.

I love the idea of repro 45's in a box set. It's closer to the authentic experience, I think. I know there are people who just want the songs and don't care about the format (CD/CD-R/LP/45/etc.), but for me there's an edge if the artifact (even if it's a repro) gets you closer to the real deal.

For instance, I love the Velvet Underground and Hollies 45 sets that Sundazed put out.

I'll put in a vote for stand-alone cds, or cds that accompany vinyl - my vinyl set up is ok, but no great shakes. Given the hit and miss quality control you get with vinyl these days (Rainbo's job with the recent US pressings of Beatles lps has been less than stellar), it would be a shame to get poor quality pressings that would require returns.

With Bosshoss involved in this dream, I trust quality-control will be in good hands.

To the people opting for CDs here: Do you actually like the medium or the format? In the latter case, wouldnt a download-option suffice - either to go with the 2xLP-version I vastly prefer and/or from one of the more popular online-platforms?
