i couldnt decide where this might fit on the forum or not, but here goes nothin:
an interesting new comp of early/mid 70's Michigan stuff just came out, though there doesn't seem to be a track list posted online for the thing anywhere - its called Michigan Meltdown and its on a label called Coney Dog Records

not sure if i need this record or not, as it might be in a more 70s punk bag or maybe even could be one of the 'hoax' albums of fake 'old' bands that are actually modern in disguise, but, no matter what this is, if someone could post up a track list here for it thatd be crucial

oh, and heres a catalogue listing for it w/ cover pic and such:

Sylvain has posted quite a bit about this in a different forum, including the track listing:

  • astaroth - salanispiritus
  • insanity's horse - to the editor
  • robert starks and the geniuses - space traveling part 2
  • tribal sinfonia - something has you turned around
  • air - twelve o'clock satanial
  • metropolis - age of evolution
  • jay walker effort - paper dolls
  • almanack - hello
  • apparition - apparition
  • master danse - feelin dead
  • flying wedge - come to my casbah / i cant believe

Great! I have a really hard time tracking down 45s like these from the 70s. Great to have some bandnames to search for.

wow! awesome, thanks Green Fuzz for the tracklist, and with a recomendation from the Buckeye this will surely enter my collection....but im slightly bummed that Salem Witchcraft's goofy-but-great "Rock 'N' Roll Lover" isn't on here

Hey, this looks cool! about effin' time!
For a sample - check out Astaroth here...the sound files still work - thanks to Brad H's quicktime embeds

The Almanack record is a cover of Lee Michaels* so you get the picture of what this will be like

* first (and probably last!) mention of Lee Michaels on this forum, I believe....
Brad has the best store in Detroit and he just moved into an awesome new building!

Highly recommended. Emphasis is definitely on the heavier side of the spectrum, with some of the tracks sporting fashionable darker/satanic themes. If you can, look at it as the US counterpart to the Do What Thou Wilt comp from the UK that came out earlier this year.

Where can I hear some samples of this comp? 'Heavy', 'satanic', 'occult',... sounds nice!

Looks great! All unehard except for the TNS track which is a killer.

The only way is up after volume 1.
