You can find it on the FOR A FEW FUZZ GUITARS MORE comp.Has to be this The Purple Sun with "Doomsday", if it was released in '70. His voice haunts me in my sleep.

Cool sounds. Don't know what to make of it. Not really mayhem but interesting.

I told you guys back in the Garage Punk forum how collecting this genre is gonna take off, and I was right.
Yikes! I need this. Shame about the ugly price tag....
Got this a few days ago, quite nice. Some hot valve intrusion but not annoyingly so. The flip, or A-side, was actually a good, snappy pop song. I will try to provide soundclips, unless someone else have them handy.
Great label design!

You did, and it did (or is about to). Only waiting for the comps to come pouring out now. Exposing new 45s but also driving up the prices.
This is actually extremely good.Cool sounds. Don't know what to make of it. Not really mayhem but interesting.
Sorry, but the The Brood "The Roach" is awful!
In this genre there's a really thin line between great and the worst of things to happen to good 60s rock'n'roll.
Haha I think this "genre" is probably 99% awful.
But I dig the Estes Bros non LP 45 and I think Gold - No Parking(from '69 tho) is pretty great aswell
True. "Be Forwarned" is still the one to be measured by.Haha I think this "genre" is probably 99% awful. I have Macabre - Be Forwarned on 45 and that's still the only one I've heard that I think is utterly devastating and great.
I've already ordered that Michigan Meltdown compilation, hoping to get proven wrong on that one at least

That song about food for example... should be a worthy contender for another Only in America comp on Arfarf. Makes me think of Endless Pulse - Nowhere Chick, but even tackier. A friend of mine who shall remain anonymous has been 'collecting' these kinda 45s for years - when they were a coupla dollars tops - and he's been taping the best stuff for me. Out of for example 40 songs I like maybe 2. Overblown, Doors influenced, Zep influenced, Purple influenced... etc. It's just bad hardrock. I'm flabbergasted. Come on, twin leads playing harmony... that's about as tacky as music will ever get. All this in my opinion, of course

Kinds cool but not very convincing. He is clearly out of his element with this kind of guitar playing. Some people got it and some people don't. It's interesting to hear him struggle with the style though. On the other hand, he delivers the dreaded "white blues shouter" thing pretty well. Thanks for posting it, I'd never heard this stuff, just the earlier band. Billy or somebody was saying there was maybe an acetate or something of the Castilles? These are kinda cool...A young Bruce Springsteen

The Castiles acetate is great, two sided jangle monsters, one side is extra "punky".
Last copy sold was one given to a friend by Bruce shortly after it was recorded, sold for just under 10 grand.
