What else do you guys collect???

I used to be a big hoarder of comics especially Brit written ones - Alan Moore in particular. Commuting on the train for an hour it was more calming to read Swamp Thing, Doom Patrol, 2000AD..... than a daily newspaper passing on their biased politicking. Losing - selling / giving them away in a cross Atlantic move along with many records.

These days I have no money for specific collections other than my hoarded cheap skate thrifting of 50's and 60's early 70's stuff. Clothes, records, ornaments most anything from that period is cool to me. I'd not call it collecting though it is more happenstance and synchronicity and the dollars I have in my shallow pocket on that day.

Twist Albums:oops: seem to have become a collecting theme though, most recent one Paul Livert and The Lions - Chicken Twist - 40 minutes of non stop twisting:screwy:.

I'll hoard anything that is raw, gritty dancers, any genre from Bluegrass to Psyche pre 70's mostly

Among other fields of collecting, I'm engaged in a long-standing and rather serious love-affair with New Zealand's 80s "indie"-scene. Here are a couple of faves:

Apart from buying US (and to some extent Canadian) garage 45s I also buy all Swedish 1st wave (roughly '77 - '81) punk rock 45s I get my hands on if the price is reasonable. There's almost no LP's from the era, but a lot of small/private label 45's and a lot of it are killer stuff.
I also buy r&b/r&r/r-a-b/soul/girlgroup 45s from time to time... a lot of the classic stuff with Buddy Holly, Little Richard, Jerry Lee etc etc
...some choice Swedish 60's beat/psych when opportunity arises...
I've also been getting quite a few LP's lately... originals of The David, Kak, Charles Westover and so on.

My girlfriend also buys records and she's into French 60's + she's been getting a few moody euro monsters recently... like The Famous Crew (Belgium) and Les Marquis (Austria) and she's also buying a US 45 or two from time to time... and 45s with Swedish 60's schlager girls! Some great stuff there, and some really rare...

Apart from records I have a soft spot for cool clothes - even some stuff I can't wear but just think is really cool to have, like an original dayglo striped jacket from Granny Takes A Trip, original 60's fringe jacket from California (that I actually use sometimes) and more crazy psychedelich 60's stuff. I just bought an old Swedish army jacket (a well made 50's copy of a 1895 model) that looks just like those things Hendrix used to wear - great with a frillyshirt ;)

There's also a lot of posters at home, including some very cool 60's originals.

Bottom line our home is just full of stuff...

I seem to amass those 60's ashtrays... We have em hung on our walls like our own version of franklin mint commemorative plates.

Mid century dinnerware, emphasis on Red Wing, Fransiscan and Syracuse, plus limited pressing black/doom/whatever contemp metal albums...that is truly where the nice packages are coming these days

Yeah.... I dig folks are including other things aside from music.... I dig Mr Splendid's pulp fiction so much.

I am als into buying a lot of original 60s clothing... 60s mirrors/furniture etc etc.

I have a bunch of pulp fiction books too, but Mr Splendid's is great, never seen such a nice looking amount.

I also have to spend money on keeping a mini on the road, which at the moment.... is sucking me dry!!!

Mans kinda dig your girlfriend is into collecting 45s, it'd be my dream to find a girl (a real girl - gotta love Moulty) who could equal me in the love of collecting stuff and having cool shit around.

Great ashtray walls!!!

Many sorts of records, especially those from Chicago and environs. Lately, pre-Beatle R&R from the middle west. Sporting News Baseball Guides...some baseball cards. Music and baseball reference books. Prints by pop and some experimental artists.
