What exactly is a tax scam record?

Looking at it again, I think the Things To Come LP might actually be a tax scam LP, despite being pressed by Century. The logo for the Album Concepts tax scam label appears on the front cover, and the distributor credited on the back also seems to be tax-scam connected

For what it's worth, I interviewed Dale Davis (Things To Come manager), Russ Kunkel , the late Steve Runolfsson's sister and maybe one other ex-TTC member for their story on the Sundazed LP that was released in 1993 and none of them even mentioned the Century album, so I'm fairly certain that they had no idea of its existence. That's why it is excluded from the liner notes on that album, because as a hard core 45 geek at the time, I was not aware of it myself.

The first copy that I was ever aware of was when a Michigan LP psych collector told me about his copy, this was way back in the early '80s, if memory serves. Don't know how/where he got his copy and don't know where it is now, he passed away in 2021. Perhaps one of the 2 copies that you owned was this one ?
So that's either 7 or 8 copies known for certain to exist.
That must be my first copy.
I guess he traded to a fellow Michigan collector who would be the one I got it from in a big trade we made in, I believe, the late 80s. That also got me some cool Michigan 45s & Purple Canteen "Brains In My Feet".

So, the trade got me a mustache on my face & brains in my feet. It left me "In Wyrd".
