Worst Master Recording

Another disappointing pressing - "I Saw You Walking" by The By Fives. It's still awesome, though.

My first thought was also Modds " Leave My House" but "I Saw You Walking" is one of those I crank often in my car and I wish it had a little more punch!

This song kills me every time I listen to it. Did this ever get the Bosshoss treatment? If so, where can I find it? :tiphat:

I really like Lord Beverley Moss & the Mossmen - Please Please What's The Matter , but there is an annoying distortion in the low end of the recording . First thought my copy has groove wear , but all the other copies I listened to since had the same distortion .

The worst is "Without You" by The Orphans, my band in 1967, formerly Al's Untouchables who scored with "Come On Baby" in 1966. Larry Herbst "produced" the record and Norm Goodman was engineer at Gold Star Studios in Hollywood. The first day it was released (without the band's knowledge) and we heard it, we made Herbst pull everything out of the stores and from radio. It actually got airplay for the few days it was available. It sounds like engineer Goodman was actually the janitor and Herbst was a well-known geek who couldn't produce a fart without shitting his pants.

The Escapades - I Tell No Lies on Arbet, the record looks VG+ but the vinyl ,which was used, looks like kinda cheap recycling stuff, the 1st minute plays well and then strong backround noises, I hate it but I love the song, I havn't any idea if the XL press having much better sound

For me the most disappointing was The Syndicate "My Baby's Barefoot". I got my nm- copy and excitedly gave it it's first spin and realized it sounded nothing like the one from BFTG. I now know there's two presses, but I'm in no hurry to plop down cash for another. Until then, I suffer....
