YouTube Discoveries

I
How did you find this? It’s really great.
I'm afraid to admit, I can't remember. I think youtube recommended it to me. I've usually had a glass or two of wine when I sit down to watch stuff of an evening.
You're absolutely right though - it's a cool find. Plenty of times I've been reading an article about a band in Ugly Things magazine and it mentions a regionally popular band having it's own show and it sounds too good to be true.
This is one of those shows.

Stating the obvious no doubt but it's worth reminding yourself - get some free software that will download youtube videos and save everything you want to see again. Then save it on an external hard drive. Channels disappear all the time, especially those hosting other people's art. My own channel is completely made up of videos that dropped of youtube.
An external hard drive will protect your stuff if your computer crashes and burns like mine is about to do.

This is by no means a new post, but I guess not many people have discovered it anyway...

That's a great version of "Sometimes The Good Guys Don't Wear White". By far one of The Standells' most underrated songs. Living near Boston I NEVER want to hear "Dirty Water" again.

Years ago, I dated a girl from Baldwinville MA that said the exact same thing. She wasn't into garage at all. In fact, she said that she received a new Dave Clark 5 lp on her birthday and thought it was too abrasive. She must have known her Standells though... because during our break up she referred to me as a "Poor Shell of a Man" (which I'm guessing she picked up from their song of many decades in the past).

Was that after you called her a Black Hearted Woman? 🖤

I live in Sydney and never want to hear Dirty Water again.
When I played drums in a band back in the 60s, I hated playing that song…wait, that’s not right. I actually liked playing it. It was Little Red Ridding Hood by Sam the Sham and the Pharaohs that I hated playing!
That ain’t rock&roll! -TJ

Don't knock the Rok - 1984 clips of Roky, John Ike on drums, Ronnie Leatherman on bass and a gent named Greg Forest playing some sizzling lead - Roky has the ON switch flipped and the amps are cranked to 11:

I found You're Gonna Miss Me on youtube, nosed around online and found video for YGMM and 3 more tunes including Before You Accuse Me, Don't Slander Me and Two Headed Dog
