YouTube Discoveries

I'm afraid there's no challenge on my part. I have thousands of songs in my music library and thanks to our generous host the garage section keeps growing exponentially.
I do love all the sixties beat too and that amounts to thousands more songs. I really have lost track of what has been posted or comped.
Sometimes I can't recall a song, just a line or two, my good friend Daniel helps me out by request. (You know who you are👍).
So it is with regret that I've come to the decision to stop posting.

I'll be a lurker from now on I guess. Best to all ✌️
Well that's a tad dramatic but ok. Do as you please. I meant no offense, I just knew the Dick Watson album was on YouTube 🤷! We all like sixties garage (and all music really) in our own way and I like this thread for pointing out gems that may be new to YouTube or finding things that have been hiding. I feel like it can get ever so slightly competitive at times but...so what? It's all for the love of that driving beat 🎶!

My good friends I think a little extra explanation is needed. There are absolutely no hard feelings towards anyone, well maybe to myself. I have never kept up with comps as I found most of them had maybe 2 or 3 great tunes I'd never heard of and just didn't care to buy them.
I used to listen to garage all day every day, however since my retirement I have started to listen to all of the sixties beat again. All the music be it garage, psych or beat is aces to me. For me a change happened when I couldn't remember one of my all time faves except for a line in the song. My good pal helped me out, the song was Mister Guy Fawkes by the DMSet, a 45 I used to have multiple copies of😳
So that was the start of me losing touch with what was in my collection. And now I just have to stop posting for I will look like a fool reposting cool stuff. I even download songs only to find out that I already have them (off of my original 45's). Maybe it's an early onset of dementia (godforbid), so that's the best way I can explain things. 😢

That's no good, Jim. I think the solution is to just start a new thread for whatever you are listening to right now. Doesn't have to be a new discovery and doesn't matter if it's been posted before. Maybe we can call it something like 'Now playing'. If others don't like that idea, they'll know not to bother looking at it.

That's a nice idea. I don't want to frighten anyone off if I say that something's been comped, I just like keeping track of whether somethings really a "discovery" or not. Post whatever you want though, I don't mean to be a cop 👮‍♂️!

In fact I've been wondering where to post this, I suppose it's a "discovery" 😆! 77 style punk but the subject matter is on track so here we go! Am a sucker for female fronted bands these days too

Excellent idea!

"What A Night" and "I Shall Miss You" are pretty good but "Cold" is still my fave of the bunch.
"Cold Clear World" definitely stands out and it's easy to see why it was the choice to get comped 30 plus years ago. Still, it was so odd, I was really curious about the rest of the album. I remember going back and forth about it with Patrick Lunborg when he was still alive on the old Garage Punk Forum, neither of us had heard it at the time, and I think he mentioned a connection to the Godz somehow?

OK here's a find. I've had to edit my original comment heavily after getting more info, but this is the original version from the Broadway play. Anyway, this is pretty funny to hear after listening to the other one forever!
