company sleeves

Looks like you are right about the Hit sleeve. The clincher for me is the "Holiday Hits" label which has the santa sleeve, at the bottom of the 45 sleeves site. That one is definitely a Hit label sleeve, so all the others must be as well.

Also, the use of the word "compatible" on both the sleeve and the record, makes it a certainty, really.

Slight tangent here, boss - anything spin worthy on the Hit label of cheap-o remakes of hits fame?

Lot of greater cover versions. I had a comp I quickly threw together a few years ago for the old garage-punk forum. It may be posted on here somewhere, but rather than having to search it out, here it is:

DivShare File - Hit Records.zip

Divshare sucks and I hope this still downloads okay. If it doesn't, I'll re-up it elsewhere.
Gotta dig out my CD-r, then I'll post the tracklist.

Mr. Heitkotter - Does "Canticles To Jello" realize the freak potential implied by its title?

I'd say so. Like pfft said, it's psych-pop, but it's got a pretty brilliant baroque-like arrangement and total nutty lyrics. "From my hammock in the sky, I sing of Canticles To Jello."

Found this by Hess. It's a little lighter and pure pop, but gives you a little idea of his sound.
I'll put up Canticles this afternoon.
